Probably my favorite DS2 character and my second favorite boss. Imo, DS2’s best boss is the Old Ivory King.

I like his Raime's lore, but I prefer Ivory King, Alsanna and Aldia in lore. Do you buy the theory that he discovered Nashandra's secrets and that's one of the reasons he fought Velstadt?

It is the Old Knight’s Hammer iirc, I ended up power stancing great swords in the end on that build, but that hammer imo is probably the overall best in DS2, even better than the Dragon Tooth

Yeah the Dragon Tooth has durability issues when you R2. It drains like 5 durability per R2 and the Old Knight’s Hammer does not iirc, and they have virtually equal stats and scaling. Both require 50 strength to wield

I’m debating on doing a magic run on DS2 after I finish my DEX rerun of DS1 lol

5 durability per r2 sounds pretty excessive lol. Imagine trying to use something like that against Sinh 😂

I think I’ll do a Faith run on DS3, even though faith is conceptually my least favorite stat lol. I’ve actually started to re-evaluate Faith recently in terms of philosophy and such, and it’s starting to grow on me

I have no idea what imma do with DS3 when I get it lol. I've seen some cool magic stuff and weapons but not sure if it's something I'd want to spend an entire game using. What build would you recommend for a first time player of it

I've also thought about doing an all sorcery run in with DS1 or DS2 but I know that there are some enemies that are spell resistant and having to get a secondary weapon sounds like a hassle lol

My first play through, I used the Faron Greatsword, and then transitioned to the Ringed Knight Greatswords later on, which took me all the way to NG+5 and resulted in DS3 becoming my favorite Dark Souls game lol

Sorcery on DS1 is so hilariously broken lol. I did a sorcery play through on DS1, and even in NG+, bosses were just getting completely raped by sorcery lol.

Fume Knight is definitely the best boss in DS2 imo.
Also the only time I did sorcery in these games pre-Elden (where I think melee/magic hybrid is more intended) was on Darlurker. I got so frustrated by the run back to his fight (its probably the most “bruh” level runback in the game outside of the Co-Op areas in the DLCs) that I re-specced to a mage and nuked them when they split

I'd say my top 5 would be.
1. Fume Knight.
2. Sinh.
3. Looking Glass Knight.
4. Velstadt.
5. hmmm probably Smelter Demon.
