DarkWitchOr maybe just maybe Imu can still be a guy with a calm personality who happens to like butterflies.
PeroroncinoI would play with butterflies if i could thats not a girly thing smh
Cinera@Peroroncino: it's about whether Oda is more likely to draw a powerful man playing with butterflies in a flower garden or a powerful woman doing that.
The action is more stereotypically girly, and Oda's character presentation is pretty gendered.
DarkWitchAgain we don't know anything about Imu yet, Oda could still have Imu be a powerful guy who happens to like butterflies. Heck Imu might not even be a guy or a girl.
SakazOukiGuys this is not about what you personally think/do irl. Oda never portrayed men doing/wearing something like this especially not a serious character, and you all know how he draws his female characters lol
Cinera@King7: I think that Imu is the final antagonist regardless of their appearance.
Their role and presence in the story is the true leader of the World Government, and the World Government is the "Big Bad".
The worst that could happen is that Luffy won't have a slug fest with Imu if she's a pretty woman.
JailerIt's his own personal garden. A tyran's garden, pretty sure this trope is not specific to queens.
"King of the World", not "Queen of the World"
It could still be a female, I am just saying what we saw so far wont qualify for anything concrete.
Cinera@Jailer: Imu hasn't directly been addressed as the "King of the World". Rocks wanted to become the King of the World, and Stelly said that he would become the King of the World if he sat on the Empty Throne.
Both Rocks and Stelly are men, so it wouldn't make sense for them to address it as the "Queen of the World".
The people who spoke of the Empty Throne weren't aware of Imu's existence anyway.
Cinera(I'm also not clear if the sense of "King" used when referring to the Empty Throne is strictly gendered.
And even then, Linlin wanted to become "Pirate King" and was one of the "Emperors of the Sea".)
Topi JeramiCinera is Ndule 2.0 (except Ndule has a huge dick), from Yamato4Nakama to ZKK to Black Enma in Wano to Oda actually respects Yamato to Kaido must die etc. So with this status, now we know Im sama is a guy.
* Yamato having Haoshoku haki and Haoshoku coating
* Yamato having a mythical zoan
* Yamato fighting Kaido
* Yamato > King
* Zoro fighting Kaido
* Zoro scarring Kaido (I think)
Etc.
Imu being a woman isn't even that substantive a theory of mine — I didn't even write a thread on it — it's just a hypothesis I favour given the current evidence.
SakazOuki@Topi Jerami comparing Imu is a woman to a theory like ZKK is a fallacy as big as ZKK itself lol
The reasonable thing to do is assume Imu is a she considering the cues we already have that fit with the narrative of One Piece as a whole and how Oda himself perceives genders.
Topi JeramiKaido is not dead yet, but we will see later.
Yamato > King is even more trash opinion than Yamato4Nakama.
