Arthur Dayne
Selmy
Jamie Lannister
Oberyn
Prime Robert Baratheon
NikaInParis-Arthur Dayne
-Barristan Selmy
-Aemon the Dragonknight
-Jaime Lannister (two hands ofc)
-Robert Baratheon (underrated because he isn't a swordsman)
And the Hound and the Mountain are certainly in contention. As well as Black Balaq.
God Buggy(Preferred weapons included):
- Arthur Dayne/Daemon Blackfyre
- Aemon the Dragonknight (pretty much with the first two tbf)
- Barristan Selmy/Cregan Stark
The first three get an edge over the other two because of their weapons.
If everyone has equalized weapons, I see a fight between any of these guys being 50/50.
TheKnightOfTheSeaI put Barristan at 1 because I think he has the best feats of any combatant. That Duskendale rescue was straight out of a spy movie, and he killed Maelys, probably the physically strongest character in Westeros history.
And he doesn't have a special sword either. tho I think Daemon or Arthur could be above him.
Cregan is super underated imo
ConquistadoRCregan is super underrated as well. He was like #2 only to Aemon back in those years.
Personally i rank the Dragonknight pretty high as well, he was the benchmark for Kingsguards until Barristan Selmy & Arthur Dayne came.
And Daemon Blackfyre was said to be even better than Aemon though the praise was one-off and not really from a super credible source iirc.
Feats wise, yeah... Barristan has the best.
TheKnightOfTheSeaCregan was probably long past his prime when he fought Aemon too btw
Cregan's older than Aemon's father
I'm curious how the fight went, probably not a tournament, Cregan doesn't seem like the type lol
Aemon also holds the distinction of being the only kingsguard to be saved by his long lmao
God BuggyNow that I've thought about it, I'll tell you someone who is really underrated. I forgot about him in this.
Maegor. He was described as a born warrior whose skills for weapons were unmatched, he lived for wars, tournaments and battles. At 12, he was already battering man in arms into submissions and at 13 he was defeating hardened knights in melees. And during his life he fought with Valyrian blades too.
