The lack of political diversity always favor the alt right and conservative discourse. The reason for that is that we are wired to lean toward our bias and that's what those discourses use. So, with a single thread for politic, its only a matter of time before people start leaning toward right wing discussion.. just because they will occupy the space.

I don't see that as a problem. Muslims can be really politically progressive.

Yes what does anime community has to do anything with politics? On twitter you will find Weird politics topics around 24 x 7. And like minded people as well

Because stories are all political. So, excluding politics from a forum talking about political story reduce the possibility of recontextualizing the political context of this story and debate over the politics used in it and extend the knowledge on real political and social struggles.
