Ned was never an oustanding fighter though. He was alright, I guess? But 7 against 3, they were almost butchered to the last man and Howland reed was crippled for life from this fight lol. And I think someone like Daemon is, by hype alone, on the same field as an Arthur Dayne or Prime Selmy.

I saw a YouTube poll saying that Prime Ned and Robert Baratheon would defeat Daemon and Corlys, and in the comments people were wanking the fuck out of prime Ned saying he was close to Arthur Dayne and shit like that. No one even acknowledged that Daemon was the best warrior in the world which is Arthur Dayne/Barristan level hype

Prime Jaime loses. He never put himself above Arthur Dayne and sings his praises in AFFC and in TWOW sample chapters, Selmy doesn't really equate the two either IIRC. Jaime's a tier below the best-of-an-age knight.

Nah fam Jamie slander aint gonna cut it. This man was a top tier knight in his teens and was trained by Arthur Dayne himself. People said multiple times watching Jamie fight was a thing of beauty. Post Arthur Dayne i would put Prime Jamie as best fighter in Westeros

Prime Jaime belongs with Aemond the Kinslayer (best Targaryen). Aemond casually bested Kingsguard Criston in a duel when he was 17, pretty comparable hype to 15 year old Jaime. Both go beneath Daemon.

Didn't tired Jamie cut his way singlehandedly through like 15-20 knights during Whispering Woods ambush? And it took like several knights ganging up on him at the same time to finally bring him down before the dude literally reached Robb by himself?

Jaime himself doesn't put himself on Dayne's level, then you have Prime Robert who has a good 10 years of being fit that is >> Jaime and Selmy around that time period too
