So far the anime is doing a great job on the fight. Kuri really comes across as the larger than life impossible to beat figure. The choreography and the fight filler pretty nice. Luffy is being really resourceful.

The anime really emphasised the difference between the myth of Charlotte Katakuri and the reality of Kata himself when Luffy interrupts his Merienda.

The effort Kata devotes to maintaining the facade of invincibility is more clearly demonstrated as Boundman pummels him. He explicitly recalls Brulee's false hype and does a backflip to prevent himself from lying on his back.

The contrast between Kata and Luffy comes across with Luffy been relentlessly persistent and getting back up after being beaten no matter how many times Kata beats him. Kata on his part considers falling down in itself shameful on its own.

The Anime really highlights just how much of a little shit Flampe really is. It brings to the fore how we she idolises is not Katakuri himself, but what he represents, the myth he built up for himself to protect his family.

Kata's change from a desire to eliminate the threat to the Big Mom Pirates that was Strawhat Luffy, to a desire to beat the fighter that was Strawhat comes across clearly.

Yeah CoC clashes are always satisfying, expecially with Luffy. I still recall the moment Doffy was trying to kill Law and their feet clashed with their CoC showing off.
