I'm glad he didn't come back to Barca.
We have a good new project going & i'm not a huge fan of binning it all for Messi-dependency era again.
We have bigger priorities - a left winger, a Busi replacement, an RB & possibly a backup 9.
They should go all in for Gundogan or Kimmich (v. unlikely i know) or Zubimendi.

I don't think we can even depned on 36 years old Messi if he came back. And when he has motivation he can play very well as seen in the WC.
I wanted him to play in Europe and end his career there.
As for current Barca, I am happy Busquests and Alba are leaving to open the positions to new talent. Althought not sure if Gundogan would fit, he's in his 30's.

Gundogan's world class, he still has 2/3 years left of his prime until he starts declining.
Ofc, he isn't a long term replacement, but he improves the midfield instantly and his contract at City is also running out.
And he'd probably be just what youngsters like Pedri/Gavi need to mature into their roles.

Raphinha is also good, he has that 'dawg' in him and also provides good end product.
That said, we badly need a good option for the left wing lol.

Either staying and trying his best to regain that form he had pre-injury or leaving.
And i doubt he can regain that form, he had a certain explosiveness to his runs back then which he just doesnt have post-injury.
