Elder Lee HungTeach killing Imu isn’t controversial at all, especially if Imu has the world’s strongest Zoan. Then Teach would claim his fruit and have the strongest Paramecia, the strongest Zoan, and the strongest logia fruits all in one
CineraThe World Government has always been the final villain.
Teach just ain't that guy.
TheKnightOfTheSeaI think the scene with Imu and the posters implies that Imu and Teach will at least interact in some way.
It's really not that crazy.
Especially if Imu is just a mythical zoan user like @Elder Lee Hung said
CineraI do not see the World Government going down to Teach.
TheKnightOfTheSeaIf Teach is the final villain, he'd swoop in to kill Imu after the World Government loses to Straw Hat + Revolutionary Army + dozens of SH allies imho
Elder Lee HungLuffy vs Imu was always out of left field to me, that conflict was never anywhere near as foreshadowed as Luffy vs Teach or Luffy vs Akainu. I could see Imu existing as a fight for Dragon or Blackbeard as each has much greater reason to fight Imu than Luffy.
And Oda wouldn't let anyone but his golden boy defeat the big bad.
Even Law didn't get to defeat Doflamingo.
Elder Lee HungI don’t think Imu is the final villain and never have. I still think we have yet to meet the actual final villain believe it or not. Imo the final villain is likely either the bloodstained serpent or the sea devil. But I don’t think it’s Imu. I think Imu is almost like Madara from Naruto, Madara was immediately introduced as one of the strongest figures historically but never actually fought Naruto lol
Elder Lee HungMadara was simply introduced into the story to further other plot elements as I think Imu has been. Imu is basically Devil fruit fuel for Teach and also exists as narrative commentary on the WG, but I don’t think Imu is the final villain. Do not be surprised if we find out Imu was originally a good character who corrupted the OP world in order to protect it from an even worse evil which is a common trope in fiction.
Elder Lee Hung@Cinera if you’ve ever read the Mistborn trilogy, there is a character extremely similar to Imu there called the Lord Ruler. Super mega immortal king of the whole world who was running an evil government and all that. At the end of Book one, the Lord Ruler is killed and all is well, right? Wrong.
Elder Lee HungIt turns out that the Lord Ruler wasn’t evil at all, and all of the supposedly evil shit that he did to the world was actually for the purpose of holding off an even greater evil than himself. What’s even crazier is that the main characters actually come to the conclusion that the Lord Ruler was not only not evil, but everything he did was actually the correct course of action to defeat the unstoppable evil.
