The problem is throughout hachinosu, Coby and Kuzan didn’t even clash or show an intent to clash.
Kuzan was linked to Smoker early in the timeskip. We don’t know their backstory, but there’s a strong potential for one. Cobys more likely to fight Pizarro imo as Pizarros attack on the ship was the reason Garp and Coby got separated.
And if Oda strengthened Coby here, he can easily buff Smoker in his return.
