@gz89 I'm a Ronaldo fan so I'm a bit biased but the greatest showing of Ronaldo was that he has done it in all the big leagues at Sporting, Man Utd, Real and Juve. He proved that he makes the team great and not the team him. Not saying Messi isn't the same but his run at PSG wasn't really successful.

@gz89 nah, I watched both of them practically from the start. Messi is a great player, but he is a system player. The system in Barca made Messi exploit 120% of his potential. Ronaldo can play in any league, any team. Messi is a better playmaker, and better with the ball, arguably young Ronaldo was as good, but not the later versions. Ronaldo is clear in the physical department and everything that comes with it.

I find this debate to be similar to Djokovic vs Federer for instance. Imo, it's clear Djokovic is better but a lot of people tend to go with Federer because of the 'elegance' and 'class' of his plays. While Djokovic and Rafa would dominate you physically on the court and win with those.

@MarineHQ yeah it's absolutely surreal how far both Ronaldo and Messi took this sport. Their worst seasons are Ballon d'or worthy or at least worthy for a contender spot. I just find Ronaldo to be better. Messi is great of course, a huge talent, but I feel his path was benefitted by a great system filled with great players from the get go. It brought out much more than he could have done on his own in other teams.

@Sebastian Michaelis I never liked to say that Ronaldo is better only because I like him more. I just dig his style of playing more. His style is also more attractive visually and flashy which I'd imagine attracts casuals but if you have any knowledge about the sport you know how insane Messi's skill off creating or finding holes where there are seemingly none is.

Yeah they both excel at different things and take those things to the next level. I think Ronaldo is better, marginally, but still better. I like Ronaldo more too tho, so I can be biased as well, but for me he's better.
