Hawkins is YC4 level character. He was just trashed by Zoro because Zoro is nigh YC1 level character (without Enma).

I haven't been impressed with him. I think he could beat the likes of 2 sword Zoro / Pre-RS Sanji high diff. Don't think he's one of the stronger Supernova though.

@TheAncientCenturion I think he should beat the likes of Vergo with at most high diff. If he has his 10 lives, he probably takes down Vergo without losing that many.
I don't think he's top 5 for the Supernova, but the top 5 supernova are all solid high tiers (with Luffy possibly being a low top tier). Hell, the top 6 definitely are.

I don't see how Hawkins is impressive. He did superficial damage to a Zoro who could not even voluntarily move (stuck on the moving steed) and had to protect his allies. Lost 2 lives without doing a single thing. Was outplayed by Law until he had to bring out seastone. IMO, Hawkins does beat Mr. Vergo, it's extreme diff though.

I'm not sure Hawkins would win against 2 sword Zoro. I think he can probably handle the likes of Killer, but he lost 3 lives very quickly against 2 sword Zoro, his "strong card" was also beaten decisively. Zoro mainly took damage because he was caught by surprise (only works once), and he couldn't try dodging (Tama and Luffy were behind him, so he tried to block all the attacks).

Zoro still has the AP and range to harass him and steadily drain his lives. If we assume the Kamazou feat is an outlier, then his endurance should let him take down Hawkins before he racks up too much damage.

The main reason to give Hawkins the benefit of the doubt is:
* It's implied he has more cards to draw (having one in particular that lets people transcend their limits).
* He hasn't yet used his straw form monster from preskip.
* Bege had a trump card that boasted solid high tier defense (he managed to endure enraged punches from Big Mom, and none of the other Big Mom Pirates bar Linlin herself tried to attack him).

Big Father elevated Bege a level beyond his previous showings, so it's not out of the ordinary for Hawkins Trump card to do the same.

You are right about that. Hawkins made Law struggle, the entire time Law was the one running away. Not only that, but Hawkins managed to capture him too. He is compared to Drake and Law too. Hawkins is a lot stronger than Vergo.

Big Father doesn't elevate Capone at all. It gives him added durability to not be one shot by Mid Tiers. But his AP is still trash and his speed isn't crazy.

If you face Zoro and get destroyed, you get underrated. When reality is opponents are not weak, Zoro is just overpowered

@TheAncientCenturion IIRC didn't Katakuri opt to not attack Bege? Him and Perospero combined forces to immobilise him. High tiers refrained from attacking him, so he probably doesn't get oneshot by most high tiers either.
I'm not sold on his AP being trash. IIRC his cannons were blocked, so we never really witnessed it. Cannon fire also manages to deal some damage even at the upper echelon of power in One Piece.
