Ouki might know about how ambitious his relative Ousen is. The previous 6GGs were all extremely loyal to King Sho, while Ousen's loyalties lie solely with himself

Kanki is also fairly young, and has an unconventional origin and fighting style.

Ousen was Qin's number one "dangerous person" according to Mouten, his ambition preventing people to trust him since the times of King Sho and the reason he didn't rise to relevance already at that time.

Kanki...yeah Ouki believed he was an extreme talent but probably lacked other info for him to judge Kanki as being optimal for Qin Six system itself.

@FutureWarrior123 Plus when Ouki made that comment the Duke was obviously alive and he would have undoubtely been worthy to be in the Qin Six strenght wise. Here again, it has to do with something else (in the Coalition, the Duke himself explained to Shin about why he never was in the Qin Six despite his caliber).

Remember that most of what made the Qin 6 such a formidable system was the loyalty of each original member to King Sho. Sho had absolute trust in each and every single one of them.

Ousen and Kanki even as Vice Generals to Mougou possessed the talent of a Qin 6 but both are utterly untrustworthy.

Moubu was inexperienced at the time, while Mougou and Choutou were loyal to the state of Qin but just not capable enough to hold such responsibility to freely wage war. Duke Hyou meanwhile was likely the only General both experienced and capable for the role but he had already rejected it.

It’s different for each commander:

Moubu-inexperience
Ousen-untrustworthy
Kanki-untrustworthy
Duke Hyou-honestly Duke Hyou never had the desire to freely wage war which would inherently make him unworthy of the title
Mougou/Choutou-ability

And he probably wasn’t including Tou in that conversation as Tou was his own vassal.

I get all of that but they still ended being promoted to those ranks anyway. Does Ouki simply have different standards for who’s 6GG material than the current Qin courtroom?

yes.

They're promoting the best they have, not necessarily the most loyal

@FutureWarrior123 it was said that the Qin 6 system was revived because the Qin determined that they would not be able to conquer Zhao without it. So yeah to an extent they simply promoted out of necessity. Sei even said at the ceremony that he knew he hadn’t earned the loyalty of his 6 like King Sho had.

To be clear ofc the current Qin 6 have that talent but not the loyalty or the experience that the old ones did.

Moubu is directly proven superior to Oukotsu in martial might. One got one shot by Young Kanmeii, the other killed Prime Kanmei.

But Moubu's loyalty to Sei is questionable. He was part of Ryofui's factions. Therefore, Oukotsu can be considered the Superior Qin 6 member despite being an inferior fighter/general

That's how I look at things.

Moubu literally doesn’t give a fuck who’s in charge lol. He just cares about his own ambition. Better than Ousen I guess who is a closeted enemy of Qin lol

Tou is loyal to Sei probably.

Ousen is loyal to Ousen.

Yotanwa is loyal to Sei for sure.

Kanki wasn’t loyal to anything lmfao.
