Same, but I think Hara has been recovering from burnout since Shukai and picked up the pace massively to avoid it in the future. WZI (147 chapters) is longer than the last 6 arcs combined (126). I'm positive a lot of stuff has gotten cut, including flashbacks and battles. Eikyuu was only 31 chapters. I'm positive Ko Chou's character arc got cut. I also think Kan Ki's background story was cut/repurposed for a novel

I feel like the Juuko and Kanpishi arcs definitely got content cut

It's unfortunate.

Kochou's backstory was definitely planned on being shown. "The great war against Yan".

I also feel like we could have had a few chapters on Ryofui before his "suicide"

I think literally every arc since WZI has had cut content. Hara likely has 1000s of pages of notes, not all of it intended to be included, of course, but I think he's been truncating planned arcs since WZI, so more obvious (Eikyuu) than others (Juuko). I would've loved to see Ko Chou's past because he was up there in age and Yan is still such a mysterious state with ties to some of the best generals of the era.

Yeah I imagine Hara has written many notes on future arcs, deciding on whether or not to use certain interpretations.

A personal theory i have is that Hara planned on Kanki being an antagonist in Yan, but decided to kill him off way earlier to shorten the manga.

Kan Ki should've defected to Yan after Eikyuu, imo

Only if all/most his men survived

I now predict that the Yan war won't be a major event, and that some political aspects will overshadow it

I think Yan will be dealt with fairly shortly, but it'll be very important to Shin as breaking the Yan army is the best and really only big win Li Xin has in the historical records. It's also the state Hara should have the most creative license with

Yeah I don't expect a long drawn out war.

The Prince of Yan will be the most significant antagonist of Yan imo, and he's more of a Sei enemy.

Hara could introduce some new Yan generals, but so far Ordo isn't a very formidable enemy

I think Hara can invent generals from the steppe and have Yan enforced by an alliance with Dai if he wants - so that could still mean involvement from SBS, SSJ, and others. He has a LOT of room to just make up exciting shit
