It's not even nepotism, considering 99.9% of the characters had to work their ass off to get to power, some of them even got a more difficult life just because of who their father/mother is.
Too early to say, but this flashback is definitely a million times important when it comes to the overall story instead of just specific characters, I'm also a gigafan of Rocks and BB, so I prefer it so far.
