The entire point of my post is reputation =/= reality. The perception of BM & Kaido being the strongest held by fodders of OP world comes from the sheer fact BB & Shanks are much newer as Yonko, and haven't made any giant moves, thus have a lower bounty, thus not held as the strongest yonko.

Yes which is "Supplementary material" as it's not within the actual manga. Kaido's already recognized as the strongest pirate within the manga. They simply stated Kaido & BM's reputation of being recognized as the two strongest Yonko within OPverse, having the top two bounties.
If you mean statement made by Oda in the supplementry material, then no that wasn't a confirmation of Kaido & BM being superior to Shanks. That was Oda's point at their reputation. Kaido & BM in the OP-verse are held as the strongest Yonko, they're the pirates with the highest bounties out...
This is something that's been used for Big Mom & Kaido to make them look superior to Shanks & Blackbeard. The idea being the stronger Yonko has the weaker crew , and the weaker crew has the stronger crew to make up for his lack of prowess. But it's a bogus idea that history of One Piece world...
It's not headcanon when they sacrificed one of their long term subordinates to make sure Kaido doesn't get defeated. It's clear the WG wanted to have Kaido continue his reign there.
