There's a big difference between making superman "humane" and making him "depressed". This isn't bojack horseman. Also, it's the INTRO movie for the character. Any regular superman story has these things. Including the most comically stupid ones like "Whatever happened to the Man of Tomorrow?"...

2025 and people are still coping about Man of Steel. It was an okay movie. Cavill's acting is not that good, but he does a good job with simple roles. It's a terrible Superman movie. Zod hard carries it. Snyder is not a movie director. He's a videoclip director.
