This is actually extremely realistic on Oda's part. After Nazi Germany and Japan fell in WWII some were tried and others were reintegrated without any punishment. Seems consistent with how most wars end.

He beat the 2nd strongest member of Kaidou's crew, what more do you want? He had a great portrayal this arc.
