It's been becoming more and more obvious that Momo's fruit is a perfect copy of Kaido's. So, if your reason is that Momo is the wrong color...
This is assuming that Yamato is capable of putting out said fire, which I could definitely see happening. Still, at that point you're comparing Yamato...
The thing is, I don't understand how one can see this ending without Momonosuke himself being a guardian deity:
He's about to save everyone in the Flower Capital, in view of everyone in the Flower Capital.
He's a Seiryu, a dragon which grew from a Koi fish that climbed a waterfall. There is...
I mean, if he's gonna settle down with Hiyori, why would he leave...

I think it's because all the previous references to guardian deities were over a year ago, and the TCB translation of Kaido's line was that the Makami is "the" guardian deity of Wano. If there's only one, it can't...
For people who think Yamato is going to be the guardian deity of Wano after this: you're saying that people of the Flower Capital, having just witnessed a dragon literally holding up Onigashima, are going to say "you know, that was good and all, but I want this wolf to guard us instead lol"...
Honestly, is importance to the story even a real indicator? Brook didn't even get a real fight on Onigashima, he just attacked a Number from behind. Carrot lost, but her fight was revisited multiple times, and the sky is clear so she could still be back in action.
It keeps coming back to what it actually means to open the country. It's not like the world government is afraid of guards stationed at the ports going "sorry, you can't come here", there has to be something more significant underlying.
I doubt they will be deceived by Momonosuke's dragon form...
Yeah I was also thinking about this, the red herring here could be: people are asking whether Yamato is needed to stay in Wano to protect against the WG, when the truth of the situation is that the WG is making moves on Wano and Alabasta, and the only solution is to take the fight to them.
My guy just fell in the ocean and got saved by a still-unexplained unconscious yelling into the submarine that just happened to be right where he fell. That's next level plot armor.
Juxtaposing Oden and Momonosuke is interesting... Oden's fatal flaw was that he was too set on doing things solo, while Momonosuke has done almost nothing but rely on others since his introduction. This is why I see his character arc leading to him being able to act on his own. This is why I...
Luffy has been this exact figure for Momo since the very first scene they met. Luffy is a role model for Momo and has been trying to show him how to lead, both directly and indirectly, for nearly 400 chapters now. Momo's character arc is about how he's learning to fill the shoes that were much...
