The fact that Oda made this statement, and then had Luffy deliver his biggest, strongest, most powerful punch this last chapter to "seemingly" put down Kaido, should tell everyone everything they need to know. Oda is trolling the fuck out of yall. Kaido ain't done.
That, and the fact that Kaido is legit not setup to lose right now.
Seriously, nothing at this point and time screams to the reader that if Kaido doesn't lose right now, then all hope is lost.
The CoC coating is meant to allow for the Internal Destruction haki to penetrate deeper into Kaido's body, as indicated by Luffys comment of his attacks still being too shallow despite using AdCoA.
It would make more sense if AdCoC is used to enhance the other forms of haki, rather than to be...
Yeah, obviously Luffy is going to be causing damage to Kaido throughout this fight, and punching and kicking are going to play a pivotal role in that, but it doesn't mean it's how Oda intends to end the fight.
Don't you think you might be jumping the gun here a little bit? Yes, Luffy trained to make his punches harder, that is a fact. He trained by trying to unlock barrier haki, but as a byproduct of that he unlocked a form of Haki that allows for a person to destroy people/objects from the inside...
