Can’t believe I didn’t think of this sooner, but 1058 and 1059, combined with Caribou’s contact, seem like set-up to fuel further speculation on Yamato confronting an invader who’s too troublesome for her to handle alone. Regardless of how anyone views Yamato, it can’t be denied how crazy forces...
I get the feeling that the desire for back-up in inner Wano will come in the form of the Whitebeard Pirates being in Wano, giving Yamato solid reason to finally sail out with no worry. I can see why it wasn’t suggested before since Marco prob figured Luffy could handle it, but upon realizing...
Considering Shirahoshi's case, I'm wondering if "Pluton" is actually the battleship itself, or just the name of the one who commands Pluton, and that Sukiyaki was mistaken. All things considered, wouldn't be surprised if Yamato had something to do with Kaido's plans there.
I get the feeling Momo pretty much sideswiped any extra attention for characters that would have otherwise been appreciated since Chapters 1050-1057 seemed mainly dedicated to him.
Keeping in mind how I feel Yamato is set-up to come back and join by Laugh Tale after everything that was said and done, I gotta say, this is prob the worst, most tone-deaf Wano panel with Yamato in it. Feels as if one is being mocked for time/panels being wasted.
Thinking about Yamato’s decision to stay again, maybe it shouldn’t be that surprising. At this point, Yamato does seem like someone who'd pick Oden and his path over Luffy and his path any day of the week.
As if to say, that Yamato basically sees Luffy with less relevance since Luffy isn't...
Still laugh at how people are using Robin’s little nicknames as rational to be scared of others joining at the risk of Zoro and Sanji “not looking cool”.
Seeing as how Yamato doesn't have her own identity and doesn't have greater purpose to go with Luffy right now, I don't doubt Yamato is being put in Wano as a sort of test to see how content she is in trying to be like Oden in Wano while Luffy and the others are having fun elsewhere, and have...
I understand a big reason people want Carrot to join us because her Sulong is cool. I suppose Wanda would accompany her since her Sulong is pretty cool too? She doesn’t seem to have much experience outside of Zou like Carrot either.
I suppose the recent Road to Laugh Tale further lends to the possibility of Yamato becoming logkeeper. I had thought of brewer because of Chapter 999, but her voicing a desire to write a log in the concept art gives me the idea that it could be stated in the final version of the manga as well...
Honestly never saw Carrot as friends of Luffy any different from friends like Kinemon, Law, Pekoms, and Hyogoro. They interacted with Luffy and had moments with him, but just that. With Yamato though, she hits a different level with me on a profound level.
I suppose the biggest thing missing in regards to Yamato is a dramatic emotional connection between her and Luffy. I suppose that would come in the form of her finally coming to terms of not needing to have the burden of trying to carry on Oden's identity and harken back to Luffy's words about...
Hope to see more personality like this from Yamato on the crew. She can get rough and tough when she feels teased, but not in a little sister bratty way like Nami either.
