Doffy might escape honestly, since I see Mr. 2 to more likely escape as well so that an happy ending can be depicted. But the two events are not necessarily strictly related either. Regardless Doffy escaping would be pretty cool for the story plot and it doesn't sound contrived if he won't be...
I still remember when some people didn't expect Zoro to possess Asura or CoC at all lol.
Good thing the manga didn't kill the ZKK hype at all for the reasons I explained, such as Big Mom most likely striking back and Luffy's words open for interpretation since they don't settle anything...
Or maybe I try to think wider instead of being so linear like some users :kayneshrug:
Eventually I will be proven wrong but ZKK hype lives and not just because of this hypothesis but also all the implications that came off dozens of chapters which substantially raise the odds.
Luffy never technically implicated that he will solo Kaido or that they must not return, all he claimed was that he had gotten it. Not to mention that Big Mom is allegedly kicking in again and she will probably not be stopped by those two and if Luffy ended up in danger Zoro would most likely...
I'm looking after ISDS and eventual attacks that are even far more potent than Silver Mist. For all we know nothing excludes the possibility he either empowered his Asura mode or even learnt a new power over time he has yet to disclose.
There's logical bias usually going on when it comes to conceiving Big Mom's character.
No guarantee at all that Oda shall perpetuate the disgusting PIS that went on so insistently. Eventually she will finally need to be focused on and become a substantial threat.
It's by far the most conceivable scenario for a multitude of reasons, starting from the general plot Oda molded so far, Kaido's own peculiar wish as well as Zoro's.
If there's one clear notion is that ZKK doesn't even implicate that Zoro has necessarily to perform "most of the job" against Kaido for it to occur so ZKK doesn't automatically outshine Luffy, conversely. Then one can either or not go one step further..
As long as it's feasible we can cling on the implications Oda provided us.
- Zoro acquiring Enma and carrying Oden's mission after showing the desire to help the population of Wano
- His flaming desire to kill Kaido
- Kaido affirming that perfection can only be found in death and his weird...
Well he will probably not defeat all yonko nevertheless. It would not be a plot disgrace if someone else defeated one. And on the other hand there are two yonko to defeat in this arc, we know Oda would hardly portray Luffy to defeat both in one raw.
To be honest Kaido is the one to supposedly kill (for Zoro) but not the only powerhouse to defeat to our current knowledge.
Kaido is technically not even standing as a final arc boss.
I think Oda will likely stop it with this absurd PIS and don't make just an hefty weight out of her and she would start proving an issue someone will have to deal with.
Luffy can very well defeat Big Mom and she escapes, it doesn't necessarily have to be Kaido.
Luffy can contribute into Kaido's demise if he has to shine as much as the Grandmaster even though that's not mandatory.
