Anime style drawing is unique by itself, but I mean look at this... Oda was clearly going for a Western look when he was designing Zoro and his Father. I don't know why they do this, honestly, it's strange and cringey.

Wrong, Zoro and Sanji have the same face with exception of eyebrows and hairs. For Oda Sanji [Franceman] and Zoro [Japanese] look exactly the same. Zoro's pick was always going to be controversial because Oda always drew Zoro as a white guy, Zoro's facil features are very, very European.

Zoro is not the first Japanese character who has been drawn as a Western character, that's a trend that you can see other Animes too.

It's really hard to describe it without getting into "ignorant" race discussions, which I don't wanna go to and have no interest in it, so I think it's much better to see them in comparison to each other for a reference.

All of them are fine, it's just that Japanese don't like to draw Asians like Asians, which creates difficulties when it comes to movie casting.

It seems like Netflix stuff doesn't have a lot of Zoro fans in there, unlike "Toei Animation" which hires only Zoro fans. Zoro fans better hope that SGI magic can make this guy at least look like a man.

Netflix is going with older actors, I mean look at Lewis Tan he looks older than Zoro so actor who plays Luffy should look older than Luffy too but younger than Lewis Tan.

I don't know about that cuz for me he looks pretty white (by anime standards of course), the best choice for Luffy would be Brenton Thwaites He looks like Luffy, he has childish looking face etc. But Netflix is woke as fu:k so I don't expect a good casting from them.
