Probably by abandoning his unit hence his shame. It was just him and two other dudes on Zhao steeds. Nobody is going to dedicate whole units to chasing down three blokes when a siege is going poorly.
Yeah, I definitely liked what Hara did with Shin this chapter. It is nice to see that Shin has started to develop that crushing presence that Great Generals like Renpa have.
