I mean
1. Jimbei’s role was an application of skills he had shown prior to WCI. Yamato had nothing like that
2. Yamato barely even talked to Luffy. Saying they had some deep bond is a stretch. The fact that Oda had her bond with the crew offscreen sorta shows that he didn’t think it was...
Not sure if I agree that it would clash with the tone. If anything I’d say it’s the opposite cause Imu’s been taking L after L recently
- Failed to capture Buggy and Mihawk and they joined forces with Crocodile to create one of the most powerful pirate crews on the planet
- Got humiliated by...
Right now I think Vivi’s either with Sabo or with Bonney
Maybe Sabo’s just keeping her hidden for the sake of PR (Which is kind of a stretch but whatever). As for Bonney, all she had to do was turn Vivi into a baby, walk away, and no one would suspect a thing
I remember some Yamato fan on 4chan spent a year taking screenshots of people saying she wouldn’t join. When 1056 dropped he compiled all of his screenshots into a single collage and kept posting it to make fun of them.
Kinda funny how that turned out :brootea:
You know I never believed that Carrot was joining, but considering they’re doing a Vivi parallel with Momo/Kinemon/Yamato, I wouldn’t be shocked if they tried to pull a Robin parallel with someone sneaking onto the Sunny
One of the first things Yamato said to Luffy was "Hey I'm joining your crew"

But that doesn't make any sense though. She's been saying this entire arc that she was going to join Luffy's crew, but she just decided now that she was going to leave?
Haven't seen anyone talking about this, but this page gives me some doubts on whether Yamato will join
Yamato says that she's just come to a decision but she's been saying this whole arc that she'll join Luffy's crew, which implies that she recently had some doubts about joining the crew. Not...
I don't think Carrot's joining, but this chapter did give me some doubts on Yamato joining. I won't make any definite predictions, but I wouldn't be shocked if Yamato ended up staying
You know, one thing I think is interesting is that a major theme of the Wano arc is the new generation replacing the old. Momo took over his father's throne. The old guard from the Rocks era were dethroned. Carrot took the reigns of Zou from Nekomamushi and Inuarashi. And so on
So I think it's...
Nah cause he wouldn’t even need to go into “Wano” proper. All he needs to do is to bust a hole in Wano’s wall with the Gura, wait for the sea to drain, steal Pluton, and then leave

And Yamato evidently feels a sense of protectiveness towards Wano as well
