Then why did Oda go out of his way to give Yamato the “Ooguchi no Makami” something that is considered to be the guardian deity of Wano? There are tons of other mythical DFs that Oda could've given her, yet he chose this one that has such massive significance to the nation, so there is just no...
I don't really agree with your take that her DF being regarded as the "Guardian Deity of Wano" enforces the notion that she will leave. Yamato is still yet to do anything befitting of that title. Not to mention that she would have to be regarded as such by the Wano folk in the first place so if...
The funny ting about this whole No.2 argument is that even if we want to paper up the cracks by saying Sanji is only called the No.2 because of his bounty and that Zoro is the 2nd strongest, which I don't necessarily disagree with btw, the ironic ting is that it isn't as obvious as folks...
:finally:
what is going on today lol
Not like I want her to die but still...(my theory:catsweat:).
All that said the DF doesn't appear to be as impressive as I initially thought so the likelihood has dropped significantly for me :catsweat:
Yup that's the literal translation and there is nothing wrong with that but I feel a more accurate translation would be "one of" even if it isn't explicitly stated. Even more so, since Oda has said almost the exact same thing an a previous SBS.
*Another reason I say 'one of' is coz of how it is...
Robin: There's no need for you to know...
Robin: ...the significance behind Sanji relying on me...
Robin: Sanji (that man you make light off), is a man who is well-suited to be one of the two wings of the Pirate King
(lit translation here would be 'well-suited to be the two wings of a the Pirate...
Feel like you are going slightly off tangent on this. Isn't a case of who is special to who but more of the responsibilities these two hold and how crucial they are to Luffy but let's agree to disagree 🙏🏿.
Rather than going in circles on this, would prolly be best to ask other reputable...
What I don't agree with is the nuance of Stephen's translation which I feel doesn't correctly capture what Oda is saying here and Oda's choice of words here using "Luffy's precious two wings/Both of Luffy's precious wings" in reference to Zoro and Sanji is also very important to understanding...
Not to undermine Stephen's work, but I feel like that translation undersells or rather doesn't accurately capture what Oda is saying here but let's agree to disagree on this ^^
Not really but I see what you're getting at ^^. Regardless, the translation of both being Luffy's wings is not wrong even if we got into the semantics of it. The two most important bits of that phrase are "Luffy's two wings" and the word "ninau" which has a nuance of "responsibility".
You can...
What do u mean? That's an excerpt from the SBS and no if anything you are the one mistranslating it.
The translation that the both of them are Luffy's wings is accurate.
According to Oda from SBS both Zoro & Sanji are Luffy's wings, so this ting Robin is saying about Sanji being the "Pirate King's wings" is consistent with that ^^
