Nah, Oda simply thought that giving the Medicine a side effect of double pain would have been enough to convince the fanbase that Zoro is out and possibly/partially out for the next arc.

He/she can't accept that One Piece is simply not JJK or HxH which make the complaints about the series being different irrelevant If One Piece had the complex fights as do HxH it would be alot better but again thats simply not how Oda does things, accept it or just stop reading the series.

And how long did you expect Oda to continue doing while making the story interesting? Beating country level threats with just wits and basic power?
