One of the biggest lie ever came and trump beautifully foolled his voters.Most of the courts outrightfully debunked and laughed off imop it was republican appointed judges who tossed Fake vote count .

Bernie was propped up as anti establishment on left but Democrats likes insiders to be their man . If you remember Biden was not even favorite to win the nomination 4 years ago but Obama came in last minute and changed it for Biden .

Obama himself was an anti establishment candidate his charisma was the reason Biden pulled through the Dem nomination . This time i feel it will be tough .

Political parties like their man to be insiders but what about the voters ? And you just Obama happened despite the Dems liking their men to be insiders so it’s not impossible.

Did elections ever work on ideas rather than charisma and whatnot ?

From what i have seen American Election have always been sort of WWE match or popular contest. Voters can swing for example back in 80s Reagan portrayed himself as Non Washington Elite and with his Charisma won election twice . Same with Clinton who was from Arkansas . Ignoring Bush Sr and Jr , Voters love underdog candidate if they show Charisma and portray themselves as not part of Elite gang .

I would say none , Bernie was close enough who promised to shake up things like bringing free healthcare and stuff but realisticily Voters are dumb as hell they just vote who talks good on TV .

It is your personal problem to want elections to be treated like religion or something. Everything is betable in this world. Even religion although I'm not a fan of bets so I don't know if such thing actually happens. But it is possible.
