General & Others 67 000 shinobis seems far too much

The Alliance of Samurai + 5 Ninjas country -> 80 000 guys.
13 000 by nations ( probably mostly Chuunins )

1. YES how Genin become Chunin most of the time is for me a midterm because for the leaf, only Shikamaru was promoted. If 13 Genin are promoted each year by nations, we need 1 000 years to get approximately 13 000 trained Shinobis.

2. If they're is 67 000 shinobis against Obito, Madara, Juubi and Edo Tensei then the Value of an allied Shinobi is very very very low. Chuunins are basically worth nothing and it's hard to put Naruto returning from training with Jiraiya and Sakura in the same power pool.

Honestly :

-> Hyuga + Nara + Uchiha + Sarutobi + Barriers guys + Akimichi + Yamanaka + Uzumaki + Insects guy + shimura :

30 × 10 = 300 guys from the main clans + lots of senju + others : 370 to 700 Kona shinobis seems okay for me.

Let say 500. 500 × 6 nations : 3 000 fighters. Still honestly a lot. But less incomprehensible than 80 000.

I don’t think the chuunin exams are exclusively how that’s done? Sakura was promoted to chuunin and she didn’t even have a team to participate with.

yeah, 10k+ soldiers per village is pretty insane though. Their population is deceptively big

I wouldn't be surprised if the entire Naruto World only had a population of at most five million.
The life expectancy of a Ninja is probably around thirty, with four Wars in a span of fifty or so years, that the First Hokage's feats were considered "Legends" and he only died about fifty years before the story.

In the classic and early Shippuden seem that the villages where very small and the number of ninjas are less than 1000, and we have various indications of this:

-Naruto class have their "shinobi number" around the 12000 and Iruka class that have graduted years earlier was like in the 11000.
-The chunnin exams have very small number of participans and only Shikamaru have been promoted, and they even say that a exam can happen where no one is promoted
-When Sasuke run away and Shikamaru ask for Jonin and Chunin for the rescue team, Tsunade say that all other ninjas of the village have their hands full with missions and they have to use a small genin team for this one.
-When Naruto gradueted from the academia only other 8 students become genin, and all of the them besides Sakura where from elite clans of the village.
-When Zabuza gradueted from the academia in the mist Village, only one student per class become a genin
-When Gaara was taken by the Akatsuki, Chiyo say that the Sand village dont have many shinobi, and they cant afford to send Temari team together with Kakashi team so she would go
-In Kakashi flashback Minato say to Rin that the whole Iwa frontline have around just a thousand ninjas. And when he get to the frontline the main battle in the manga was just 5 leaf vs 50 rock.
-The Hokage himself assing all the mission, even for genin teams.
-Orochimaru invaded the leaf with like 500 guys from Sand and Sound and was very hard for the Leaf to deal with this number, If they have like 1000 ninjas would make sense, but id the number where the ones from the war time(13000) this would make no sense.
-The Akatsuki was a huge player in Wars but they are just ten guys.


The thing is that Kishimoto was not able to keep up with a story that have grow to much, and unlike Oda, was very incompetent in making foreshadows of a lot of thing and reereding his own manga to see how the world he have created was and maintening consistence with it. We can see this very well with the ninjas numbers and expecially with the powerscale that have gonne out of control, going from breathing fire from being a god from space who can change dimensiona.

Yes definitely I dont even think Kishi planned anything after Naruto defeated Pain the editors and jump prob pushed him to continue also Sasukes plotline from being a revenger to a emo to a hitman to a half good half bad guy to a good guy was just stupid

Narutos object was to become the hokage and to be respected by everyone by defeating Pain he accomplished the feat the rest was just Jump milking the series
