Character Discussion Admiral Kizaru & Kuzan?

This came to mind a few weeks ago, especially since both characters are very relevant now. It’s odd how they never directly interact, the closet we get is Kizaru teasing Akainu when he stresses about Kuzan’s ice in Marineford.

What do you guys think their relationship is? Do you think they’re just work associates and nothing deeper? Do their personalities mesh enough for them to be on good terms?

It’s just very odd that we don’t know how they feel about each other. We know Sakazuki and Kizaru have a friendly relationship, we know Sakazuki and Kuzan are antagonistic to one another. But those two? Big mystery.

I think Kizaru probably gets along well with everyone, if he’s got Sakazuki’s respect and even Saturn talking with him more as an equal than a subordinate, I think Kizaru is probably well respected and well liked by everyone within the Marines.

So that said, I think he and Kuzan probably got along just fine. Maybe not personal friends or anything like that but they probably had a good working relationship and respected each other.

I think Kizaru is pretty neutral when it comes to Kuzan

Now that I think about it... he's pretty neutral when it comes to most people

Even with Akainu I'd hardly consider their relationship as "friendly"

Hell, I think Sentomaru is the only character he's called his friend so far

I'm sure they're friends. Even Fujitora and Ryokugyu who couldn't be more different in personality can hang around together.
The C3 grew up in the Navy and climbed the ranks together as well.

Hell, I think Sentomaru is the only character he's called his friend so far

I think it was said in a film Z note by Oda that Akainu and Kizaru joined the navy together, and Kizaru seems more casual with Fleet Admiral Sakazuki that he was with Fleet admiral Sengoku

Fair enough, though I think that's cause Akainu and Kizaru are agemates while Sengoku has 20+ years on them

I might be a little off with this but I feel like depending on the circumstances Kizaru can get along with just about anyone

Yeah Kizaru seems to be fine with everyone as long they're on his "side" (WG/Marine).

Borsalino: well spoken and mature oldest brother
Sakazuki: confrontational and troublesome middle brother
Kuzan: disconnected and chill youngest brother

I think that they got along well enough. I believe that Akainu and Kizaru consider themselves friends, while Kizaru and Kuzan just thought of each other as friendly coworkers at best.

Borsalino doesn't have a strong personality to solicit hate, and he does seem to be quite honorable as he refused to ignore Sentomaru.


I think Kuzan probably didn't like how much of a follower he was, but did like him personally. So I'll lean towards neutral to friendly

Unless you specifically don't like Kizaru way of life, as a marine/coworker hating him is pretty hard.

He should had been neutral with Kuzan at worse.

Kizaru has no favorites, if Aokiji was the one who won the promotion he would happily play the right hand part to Aokiji the same way.

I like to imagine they were somewhat chummy, in a work friend way. And if they ran into each other, Kizaru wouldn’t feel obligated to attack on sight

Yea I feel Kizaru is tha admiral “everyone” gets along with really well. He ranges from tha super chill-Militant get tha job done. So he prolly has friends in all sectors of tha marines

Him and Kuzan have a similar personality with both being laid back unless prompted to not be. So I can see them being….maybe not best friends. But more while Akainu is blowing a gasket. They both give each other tha side eye and smirk. Then play Rock, Paper, Scissors to see who’s going to deal with it
