When Zoro recovers from his injection will he fight King or go back up to Kaido for round 2?

  • Luffy told zoro to go to the lower floors and said he would beat kaido
  • zoro said Luffy would win
  • Yamato said that Luffy would be the one to beat kaido and that she was just stalling until he arrives
  • Zoro will only be temporarily healed
Yeah sure, ZKK can still happen; but the kaido fight will end in Luffy 1v1ing him while Zoro fights King.

I'd even go so far to say that Kaido is not capable of fighting Luffy and Zoro 2v1, after all of the damage he has already taken.

From Zoro's perspective Sanji is fighting Queen, which means that Queen isn't a threat anymore, and Marco is still fighting King which means that he isn't a threat as of right now. Now, Zoro doesn't even know about Yamato's existence which means that from his point of view, Kaido is going on a rampage killing allies. Now think about it, from Zoro's point of view, which one presents a bigger threat; someone that is fighting the former 1YC of the WB pirates or someone that is "going on a rampage killing allies"?

Made so many cases on this...

To make it short I believe he will more probably end up assisting against Kaido, independently from ZKK. I think he will likely not be the sole to go up against Kaido at all however. Probably a Tri combined effort at this stage.

However if Yamato is defeated and Luffy saves her first Zoro will not necessarily join at all. At that stage I hope ZKK still occurs.

Depends on what Oda wants.

Does he want to make this like some previous arcs? I say some because the fight “pattern” isn’t as consistent as what the community makes it out to be.
If he does, then he will have Zoro fight with King. How can you force this matchup?
A simple way is to have Zoro offer to switch spots with Marco. “Hey Phoenix, go find Luffy, I’ll take care of this Dino”.
After finding him, Marco can fight alongside Luffy and Yamato. (This becomes especially interesting if Yamato has a variant of the Dog fruit)
This gives Zoro the opportunity to have practice his CoC coating.
Some people think it will be a fight to the death...
If that’s what you think, then you’ll be disappointed the same way many people have been disappointed by the Flying 6 so far.
How do you handle all the unresolved and unfinished plotlines between Zoro and Kaido?
Just give them a moment at the end of the arc. Simple.

On the other hand, if Oda wants to have Zoro continue his parallelism with Luffy in this arc.
Then, he’ll force the Kaido fight.
How can Marco defeat King? Simple, Izo and Kawamatsu.
Oda can have them help Marco.
Something to note is that Izo and Kawamatsu were the only two scabbards to target King during the surprise attack.
A common counter argument: “the new generation must defeat every executive”
No, Page One got defeated by Big Mom.
It doesn’t matter if he gets up and gets finished by Usopp. It doesn’t change the fact he got beaten by Big Mom.
It’s not hard to have Zoro fight Kaido again. It’s easy plotting.

So, at the end of the day.
It’s about what Oda wants more.
Does he want Zoro to just land the finishing blow or does he want Zoro to partake in the fight as well?
We will find out soon...

Honestly, both "Zoro is gonna fight King" or "Zoro is gonna return to fight Kaidou" have their own legit reasons to believe in their cause.

For instances, people said Zoro will not return to Kaidou just because he trust Luffy. But there's other instances in the story itself to support otherwise, like in Thriller Bark

He trusts Luffy, but he knows that they can't leave everything into Luffy's own hands.

Just gonna post my old comment here. Of course the most likely option is Zoro vs King, but you can't rule out the possibility of Zoro vs Kaidou either. Like @matt245 said, if I were Zoro, I'd prioritize Kaidou more than King, who has his hand full with Marco.
So it all depends on what Marco will do tbh. Also remember, there's still Kyoshirou and Izou who is still combat-ready and have nothing left to do.

King is possible, but that fight hasn't been set up as anything Zoro would care about. The only way I think isn't convoluted is if Marco is assigned the task of bringing Luffy back.

1. Zoro looked past King and Queen when they literally obstructed the way to Kaido before.

2. Luffy is alive and will fight again, but his set back was broadcasted. They have no idea what shape he'll be in and what kind of damage had been done to him. Zoro was willing to help Luffy when they were both fresh.

3. Yamato is a complete unknown. If you want to say some random information makes it to Zoro and alleviates his urgency, then I'll say he somehow finds out what happened to Kin and he gets more pissed than he was about Kiku.

Yet you conveniently forgot to mention the fact that Momo already announced that Luffy will defeat Kaido.
Zoro already threw his best shot at Kaido along with using CoC by accident and it failed. First scar didn't do much to slow him down. You guys are expecting him to cut off Kaido's head with what?

King is a better match up for Zoro given the power structure. It makes no sense for Zoro to go all the way down to the bottom floor only to go back up for no reason. Luffy doesn't have a problem flying with his abilities. Zoro on the other hand will need someone to help him go up.
