Speculations Akainu beat Aokiji due to a haki awakening

#1
I think that ultimately this fight must have come down to haki

The two admirals had equally powerful DFs. Magma counters ice by melting it. Meanwhile ice counters magma by cooling it.

Therefore DFs couldn’t have been the deciding factor of this matchup.

IMO it was haki. The two had comparable haki for a majority of the fight, however towards the end, Akainu awakened ACoC, allowing him to defeat Aokiji.

This makes a lot of sense as becoming fleet admiral is a kingly ambition.

Or it simply came down to Sakazukis nature being more willing to deal a finishing blow. I feel like if Kuzan was in a situation to finish the fight fully he wouldn’t be able to. But Sakazuki would do it in a heartbeat. Which is why the fight was so long they were evenly matched however, when one finally showed a bit of weakness, only Sakazuki would be able to capitalize and fully end it.

Yes for sure. Their abilities cancelled each other completely opossed to the stupid debunked opinion that Akainu had an elemental advantage when in actuality it may even have been the opossite.

Akainu beat Aokiji because he had stronger Haki.

??
Kuzan is a killing machine there’s no way you think he wouldn’t do it in a heartbeat

After the fight is secured however he would’ve spared Akainu just like Akainu soared him, that I can agree on

He left Saul alive. I doubt Kuzan planned on his time capsule attack to be a killing blow. Rather it seems more like a way to put Saul down without him dying in this attack on Ohara.
I doubt he planned for his friend to be burnt to a crisp as a way to survive his ice capsule then live with a burnt body for the rest of his life. He could’ve saved his life in other ways
Kuzan thinks Saul is dead as far as we know

I honestly can’t imagine kuzan being so inept to leave Saul alive accidentally. Even the move he used “Ice Time Capsule” just seems like a hint that he planned on letting Saul live.

By freezing him to the bone, letting him burn alive for an hour just for him to have a 5% chance of surviving, leaving him with a body scarred for life and unable to function properly? Fuck yeah lol
Saul burned because he made a choice to ensure the protection of oharas books. Once the ice melted, he could’ve ran to the water and saved himself.

All Kuzan did was give Saul a chance to save himself, Saul made the choice to burn.
