Future Events Akainu or Blackbeard, who is next??

At the start of the New World, Jinbe primed us for the two big villains besides Imu

The rise of those two were the two chief changes in the world.
But which of the two will go down first?
Blackbeard?

He hasn't defeated Shanks yet, which should happen before he loses to Luffy. He wasn't impressive against Law. Still time to grow for him. Luffy will take him on when he is on his zentih.
Therefore, I go with Akainu.

Just look at Luffy's reaction. His scar throbs, when he thinks about Sakazuki. Just as Shanks' scar aches when he thinks about Teach.

I believe Blackbeard defeats Redhair aroudn the same time Luffy defeats Reddog

I think Blackbeard will be a two-fold fight, and you’ll see the first half of that conflict before Akainu plays a major role again. Blackbeard has to participate in the race for the One Piece, but also has to be defeated. As someone who believes that Blackbeard will be the final antagonist, I think he’ll be the driving force for two arcs.

Akainu is going to have a deeper role to play rather than being just another villain for the SHs to overcome.

People also ignore there is a hint to this structure pre-ts finale as well, regardless of what the order you prefer:

In amazon lily, it specfically said the gorgon curse is caused by slaying a monster and the gorgon sisters are made to mythological beings at the begining that are linked to the cd
Impel down is Pirate focused
And marine ford is obviously Marine focused


The moment akainu bb or imu fall/starting their first major on screen battle is the primer for when the final sprint of the manga is kicking in with no breaks imo

I have seen people saying Shanks and even Mihawk (as if it was possible that after the final war all attention would be on Zoro's fight against Mihawk).

I have also seen people saying last fight (even though not in villainous kind of way) is going to be Koby vs Luffy.

Sakazuki -> Will be waiting for Luffy at Lodestar to try and stop him from reaching Raftel
Imu -> Final Fight

I think Shanks will die as well, but I really doubt he is going to before meeting Luffy.
Are you saying Shanks and Luffy will meet this arc + also die to Blackbeard this arc?

Blackbeard goes down before IMO

Akainu is worthy of being the FA because of his manpower management. He’ holds the most powerful faction so it’d be the hardest to get to him and his story is even more important to Luffy than teach given their grudge history and the way Akainu actually wants to end piracy + dragon.

BB won’t kill shanks yet. He’ll use him to find the fourth poneglyph now that we know Shanks canonically met with Gaban in Elbaf recently.
