Hi All, just wanted to ask those who have read the books how you personally rank them and who your favorite POV is from each book?
My rankings and POV's are:

1) A Dance With Dragons- Jon
2) A Clash Of Kings- Tyrion
3) A Feast For Crows- Cersei
4) A Storm Of Swords- Jaime
5) A Game Of Thrones- Eddard

*EDITED AFTER THINKING BACK ON CERTAIN THINGS.

To answer you:

My rankings change on every reread tbh, the most recent reread has them like this:
- Feast For Crows - Jaime, followed by Cersei and Brienne
- A Dance With Dragons - Theon
- A Storm of Swords - Jaime followed by Tyrion
- A Clash of Kings - Arya or Tyrion
- A Game of Thrones - Ned

The reason for GoTs low ranking isn't because it's bad in any way. It's just that, whenever I read it, it feels like rewatching Season 1 1:1 (almost) so it's like an adaptation of a TV show instead of vice versa.

I’ll type a longer answer later when I’m free. I got an unpopular opinion for ASoIAF fans

i really love Feast, specifically Jaime’s POV. I know Feast gets a lot of shit and is called dull, but it’s such a good wind down after the last novel
I love Feast as well! Its my second favourite. I like the slow pacing of the book and the political turmoil in King's landing in the aftermath of the WOT5K. Cersei's chapters are really fun to read and her delusional justifications are fun, Jaime's chapters of him going through the riverlands are great as well as Brienne and her journey through the war torn riverlands and how it has affected the locals.

I agree with your last point, even though on my list A Clash Of Kings is bottom it doesn't mean I dislike the book In anyway.

@TheAncientCenturion @dirtyLarry @TheKnightOfTheSea (you read them recently, right?) Let's hear yours as well
No real hot takes here:
1. A Storm of Swords - Jaime and Tyrion
2. A Dance with Dragons - Jon, and Barristan.
3. A Feast for Crows - Jaime and Cersei.
4. A Clash of Kings - Tyrion and Davos.
5. A Game of Thrones - Ned

Funny this thread has popped up, I’d just decided to do a read through but only of Jaime’s PoV. See how it is as a different experience. I’ve been told a Daenerys only read through is pretty interesting, especially if you can convince someone who knows nothing about the series to do it. Like Ned becomes this far seen villainous character who only starts to get humanised when Barristan enters the scene.

1) SoS- Jaime, no surprises. First PoV of a villain, one who had previously been seen as a complete piece of shit- who basically is a complete piece of shit- and somehow manages to humanise him.
2) CoK- Arya. We get to see how the war is effecting the 7K and the smallfolk, away from the machinations of the high born.
3) GoT- Ned. Has the most Bobby B in it.
4) DwD- Split between Tyrion and Jon Con. I liked the exploration of the Free Cities and the FAegon plot.
5) FFC- Jaime again. But since I’ve said him already I’ll say Brienne this time around. Again, good insight into how the normal folk are living.

Novel anyday !! Unlike Tv series Lannister are shown to be far more complex characters.

I expect Jaime to have redemption journey when grrm finishes the novels. He is far more complex characyer than shown in tv series its sad how they butchered his character only to die in heap of rock with his sister.

Of course tv series literally robbed Tyrion he is far more cunning in novel.

If i go by books Game of thrones is on top. None expected Ned to die he was main character the detail in book was such a great twist.

Also none expected Rob to die as well. That was peak grrm writing.

I don't have any favorite
-AGOT: Ned
-ACOK: Tyrion
-ASOS: Jaime
-AFFC: Brienne
-ADWD: Jon

It's crazy how nothing of value is produced on twitter when it's about Asoiaf, all I see is "Rhaenyra is mother" or "Daemon and Rhaenyra invented love" and the worst of the worst, Stannis is worse than Daenerys:whitepress:

What made it move up your rankings?
Alot of things really. Thinking back on it I had alot of fun with this book, Tyrion chapters are some of the best in the series, Arya wandering around the war torn river lands and getting exposed to the horror of war.
Jon and the nightswatchs journey beyond the wall, everything regarding Stannis, Davos and the battle of Blackwater to Dany's visit to the house of the undying.

Been a while since I read through that book the last time
I've been planning on buying all the books once TWOW comes out but that's a big LOL
