General & Others Be Prepared For The Gorosei To Be A Lot Less "Special" Than You Think

Every arc it feels like we get speculation about the new antagonist where people speculate they're more of an anomaly than they actually are.

Some recent examples:

"Kaido is a dragon that ate a human devil fruit"

"Kaido is actually a Poneglyph that was fed a fruit and that's why he's so durable" (in retrospect this is one of the most bizzare theories of all time)

"Kaido's fruit is called the Uo Uo no Mi because originally he was a fish, and the dragon is his awakened mode"

Reality:
Kaido... ate a dragon devil fruit.



We're seeing the same thing now:
"Saturn is a demon that ate a human devil fruit/takes a human form"

"Saturn has demonic powers that we have never seen before, these are not from a devil's fruit"

"Saturn's abilities are from haki, his regeneration is a reverse haki technique" (saw a JJK fan say this lmfao)


If we follow the same pattern and apply it here:
Saturn... probably just ate a Gyuuki fruit... and had the immortality surgery

I'm not saying the above theories are impossible or anything like that, but just don't forget occam's razor: the simple and obvious explanation is usually the right one.

Regenerating (time reversal on a small area), Freezing/Locking People (time freeze of each persons area, or the focused area they were in, which would explain why Luffy wasn't frozen as he was further away from the group.)

It's ok to look for parallels to mythology, especially in the case of Saturn where he literally shares the same name as Saturn/Chronos.

But at the same time, his fruit is almost certainly Gyuuki/Ushi Oni, which has no connections to Greek/Roman mythology or temporal manipulation.

Just keep your expectations in check.

The only thing I need to know about the Gorosei is whether they're Just promoted Holy Knights that go through some ritual to gain "immortality" or whether they've been around for centuries.

If they were around for THAT long they would he responsible for almost all of the suffering in the OP world and narratively extremely important.

- Like Nusjuro was a rival to Ryuma and created the Heavenly tribute system
- Topman founded the Navy

Etc etc

You know, I actually gave that theory some thought as Kaido was stated to be non human.

As you said people came up with dumb shit for Kaido too when it was obvious he has the dragon fruit until Big Mom outright spelled it out for them.

Exactly, Saturn has shown literally nothing that falls outside the scope of what's possible for a mythical zoan.

And any extra special sauce on top of that is more than likely just a byproduct of the immortality surgery.

As much as I’d love the gorosei to be interesting because merely new Zoan users directly after Wano would feel stale af. There’s a solid chance they’re just devil fruit users. Like Saturn probably just has the Kumo Kumo no mi Mythical Model Gyuki

But it would be more fun if they were demons like tot musica.
