Controversial Be smart and quit One Piece OR admit you love it

You know sometime I just wanna say "fuck it", leave this place and say "hate the story for all I care, you will simply waste one of the biggest experience of your lifetime because you never went farther than two or three storytelling missunderstood terms and two or three powerscaling OP tubers"...

BUT NO I can't even do that!

Because no matter where we look or where we interact in this fanbase, we can't even enjoy having discussions in peace anymore without having a freaking 20 to 35 yo hater vomito tell us just how bad One Piece is to our face.. Why? Because they have invested too much time to quit it, so they are now set on a quest to parasitize the fun of EVERYONE ELSE who dares to love One Piece too much.

What I've been fearing about for the last 15 years has finally happened and now the entire fanbase is FULL of this behavior. No matter where we look, twitter, reddit, instagram, youtube.. We now have to deal with this loser man child mindset on a daily basis every F where we interact.

Dudes (because you haters are, strangely, mostly men)... I'm sure that we'd organized One Piece IRL events, that some of you would STILL managed to find a way to ruin the day of every One Piece fans in the room. Don't believe me? Look how the ONLY really genuine non-apologetic 100% Pro-OP thread in the last three page triggered ya all.

I don't even see what hatred you're refering to. 90% of the people here enjoy the story. Just look at the chapters ratings. There is no issue with a few people disliking OP and saying it out loud.

They're not ruining my enjoyment of the serie and some of the critics they make are actually legit.

You need to understand that hatred doesn't mean the insult of One Piece of Oda. It's the constant criticizm, the absence of positivity, the negative mindset. One critic is ok, two, three, five even.. but when it take the majority of the place, it become a pattern and then, it becomes a system.

There is a reason why there is a complete shift between people who are reading or watching One Piece in bulk and people who have been reading the story weekly for 1 year, two year, 10 years or like me, 20+ years. The experience is not the same and most of them at least, are not able to cope with the weekly release while tanking the hatred. Eventually, the pressure gets to people and they start to hate too, sometime for decades!

It's called social contagion. It's a real documented phenomenon.

I don't think there is a thread with more than 3 pages on One Piece without at least 2 hatefull replies, either about the poster, their post or One Piece.

So yes, I see the hatred. because I'm trained to look at it.

Sorry to say that but I think you are too sensitive and easily influenced. The few people here that hate OP (there are maybe 3 or 4 of them that post regularly) don't affect my opinion of OP.

Again. You need to understand that this is not isolated, but a system. No matter if it's one or multiple person, as long as negativity is king, visibility is queen.

This doesn't apply to these threads alone but the entire forum, from One Piece to politics. It's an ecosystem of negativity. The same way Twitter fuels toxicity, this forum is build to fuel negativity, toward people and toward One Piece.

Yeah, that's cute, but this argument would have a lot more legitimacy if this was something I've been screaming about just yesterday.

Yet, it's something I have been complaining for years, not just here, but multiple plateform. To the point of even directly talking about the subject with big OP tubers.

This is something that I knew decades ago would eventually lead to a widespread corruption of the entire fanbase toward negativity and hatred. The kind you can see here today, or Twitter or Youtube. Not because I was a prophet, simply because I know from experience that minds can bend under pressure.
