80s and 90s - had shows like dragon ball, dragon ball Z, Dragon ball GT, yu yu Hakusho, Original Jojo, fist of the North Start and more!

2000-2010 the start of the big 3 One piece, Naruto and bleach also when I believe anime started becoming more main stream also had classics like Monster, Samurai Champloo and Toradora yes I'm aware one piece technically started airing in 97 but it's closer to the 2000s and its more affiliated with that era, this era was also the start of fairy tail and when isekai anime really took off catapulted by the success of SAO not to mention overlord

2010- 2019 this era started many anime that grew to be house hold names such as - AOT, My Hero, The Fate Series not counting the original from 2004 I believe but also a couple of my personal favorites like Bungo stray dogs and classroom of the elite and honestly this era had some of the best sports anime, megalo box, haiku, hanebado and was the start of demon slayer

2020's- still early so I'm not expecting to much but so far its had pretty good shows, chainsaw man, reincarnated has a vending machine, mashle, jjk, bluelock and kaguya sama being some stand out bits

Personally I think 2010-2019 was the best era

What do you think?

can I pick 30 years rather than only 10??

anime has become mainstream these days but it came at a cost

most anime aren't unique anymore and that's cause of high demands of mainstream

old anime used to be low on animation quality but the stories were good and unique

I would maybe say between 2006-2016 give or take was the best 10 years-period.

Shows like Toradora, Your Lie in April, Clannad, Fate series, FMAB, Death Note, Code Geass, Monogatari, Mahou Shoujo Madoka, Konosuba, etc all came from these years.

Animation nowadays feels very.. AI/CGI or whatever and original stories are hard to find. Mushoku Tensei and Frieren are being animated using grain so that's a callback to older anime which is a lot better than what most anime are doing nowadays.

if you mean story wise than I agree

however if you're talking about animation quality then you're straight up wrong

Meh. I dont agree with the uniqueness aspect.
There is more demand and variety and repetetiveness. But back in the days you had like 5 unique solid anime per season? You still have it, it is just hidden beneath alot of guilty pleasure shit.

rej you find things new cause you don't watch as much as me

even finding 1 unique show in a season is hard nowadays

100%. A lot of the current big hits in Shonen in terms of popularity are far from unique and just recycle old cliches and writing straight from their predecessors. There is no point in watching carbon copies of Naruto and Bleach when we have already seen that. Chainsaw Man and The Promised Neverland for example do far better when it comes to this compared to Lacking Clover, My Average Academia and the like.

Does this look correct? What are BC and BnHA based on?

Hokuto no Ken = Mad Max + Chinese Martial Arts
Saint Seiya = Fuma no Kojiro + Greek Mythology
Dragonball = Dr. Slump? + Hokuto no Ken (in DB) + Saint Seiya (in DBZ)

One Piece = Hokuto no Ken + Esteban, Child of the Sun, + Goku from DB
Bleach = Yu Yu Hakusho + Saint Seiya
Naruto = Dragonball + Japanese Mythology + Saint Seiya?

People only care about what their eyes see. Anime back in the days were waay better. Obviously technology has improved so the only thing thats better nowadays is how they look. We use to get weekly episode, not we get 12 episodes and gotta wait 2-3 years for season 2, 3 etc.

Once upon a time I use to watch anime everyday but with what we getting now, I won't even bother.

Back in the days the storyline was better and more unique. That's why shows like Yu yu hakusho is still good even today. Heck looks like we will be getting more reboots because we ain't getting nothing juicy. Other than Jujustu Kaisen and Demon SLayer I can't think of any seriously good anime in the last few years. MHA is bland, it has its moment but overall is kinda meh, never watch chainsaw man so I can't judge it. Overall for me anime is mostly dead. I spend more time watching k-dramas these days. I watch One Piece weekly and that's it.

Man I'm old talking about back in the days :kayneshrug:

Big 3 Era.

One piece starts 2000 with Usopp introduction and ends 2009 with Mr 2 showing up at Impel Down. That means we had the peak or East Blue. Alabasta. Skypea. Ennies Lobby. Thriller Bark. And the beginning of Marineford War Saga.

Naruto starts at 2002 and we end 2009 with episode 141 of Shippuden(not sure what it was about) meaning we had all the good moments of Naruto classic (plus the absurd amount of fillers) and the best moments of Shippuden (plus a lot of fillers too).

Bleach starts at 2004 and we end 2009 with episode 251 (again not sure what is about) meaning we had all the glory of Soul Society arc plus the beginning of Arrankar(not sure how it is typed) War arc plus tons of fillers.

Not sure about other animes didn't searched them.

I definitely like the 2000s & current era the most, but that likely has a lot to do with myself being invested a lot to Anime at these times, while i moved away from Anime & Manga for most of 2010s (except for like Naruto & One Piece). 1990s similar reason sinply because i was born in 1996 and couldn't possibly witness & remember anything i somehow watched through my parents in late 1990s (neither of them ever were into Anime).
