In this round in this thread we will have 8 villains, which means 4 fights.

FIRST FIGHT

Il Dottore from Genshin Impact

Il Dottore from Genshin Impact

Dottore is the Second of the Eleven Fatui Harbingers, one of the two main antagonist groups in Genshin Impact. The ranking number is based on the person's power and overall contribution to the organization. The top three ranked members are said to possess powers that rival the gods and even the Archons.

Dottore is known to be an ambitious and prideful scholar and will do anything to acquire any knowledge. It has been shown multiple times that he doesn't care about human lives and is only interested in his inhuman/crazy experiments. Be it children, adults, subordinates or even fellow Harbingers, he will use them as test subjects without compassion.

Most notable/messed up things Dottore did in the game/manga:

Manga
- Killed the most significant threat in Mondstand, so the city's people would trust him -> making it easier for him to gather test subjects.
- Killing subordinates and turning them into robots
- Literally not caring about the death of Fatui Diplomats
- Experimented on Collei / treated her Eleazar illness in a messed up way

Game
- Got chased out of his hometown because of his crazy ideas
- Inhuman Eleazar treatments on patients in a hospital and is the only person who can actually treat this illness
- Strangling a student and making it look like a tiger did it
- Got expelled from the Sumeru Academiya for experimenting on the locals
- Sabotaged the Tatarasuna Furnace-> indirectly killing tons of workers and citizens
- Tried to kill the Kabukimono out of jealousy. He was accepted into society even though he wasn't human, unlike Dottore who was cast out.
- Cut out the heart of Niwa and put it inside the Kabukimono. Niwa and the Kabukimono considered each other family.
- Heavily manipulated the Kabukimono and recruited him into the Fatui, who later became another Harbinger, so he could become his perfect test subject
- Tortured and experimented on Scaramouche for like 400 years
- Managed to overwrite the Akasha Terminal which was powered/controlled by the God of Wisdom
- Turned Scaramouche into an artificial god even though he knew the experiment was going to fail. Dottore just wanted to see the results and kill Scaramouche in the process cuz he was not useful anymore
- His most selfish segment erased every existing clone because of a deal with the God of Wisdom

VS

The Crooked Man from The Wolf Among Us
The Crooked Man is a truly vile villain, I mean its not like evil is an anagram of vile anyway right? It goes hand in hand naturally!

Anyway, Crooked Man served himself as a false messiah, a benevolent man with a no strings attached, stress free resolution to all your problems and helping you maintain your facade of having a "normal" or even "perfect" life, especially when Fable society insisted on using "Glamours" (magical diguises/makeup") to hide your true form and appear human, to not freak out actual humans in the world, as they tried to live amongst them.

He's a truly vicious con man who saw opportunity in everyone's strifes and may as well be the Devil incarnate. Behind his suave, affable, "generous" demenaour, is a ruthless, cunning, manipulative, two-faced, gaslighting, machievellian monster who has done absolutely horrific things to many innocent Fable beings in the world.

He's so bad, (major spoilers for the ending of the game) you get the choices of effectively sending him directly to the Fableverse equivalent of Hell itself by throwing down a "well of no return", you can just tear his throat out as werewolf Bigby and thus kill him there and then, stopping him permanently once and for all OR you can have him turned into a bird trapped in a cage and being a helpless victim ironically at the mercy of of the ones he entrapped and blackmailed brutally for ao long.

Some of his worst crimes too involve forcing women (who he also pimped out) to be silent and avoid giving any information about him, his schemes, who's involved etc for if they "snitched", these unremovable magical ribbons around their necks would BEHEAD them immediately! Someone who took out a loan from him also ended up baked into a pie and fed to cats after being unable to to make repayments too! (Simple Simon)

You can read more on him from that Wiki link I included and I recommend the video a lot, you will get a strong impression of how deceitful, malign, manipulative etc this absolute monster in seemingly human clothing really is. He kinda reminds of the likes of Handsome Jack and Andrew Ryan, both alternative entries I considered for this contest too:

SECOND FIGHT

Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen
Summary:
Mahito is a complete antithesis of the MC of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji Itadori. He is ruthless, coldblooded, and a mericless murderer who goes out of his way to experiment on those he kills just to test the limits of his power.

But he is also a twisted mirror image of the protagonist - they're both "new" in the Jujutsu world and are learning at a frightening pace; they both have a group of people they respect; and both of them hate their enemies and have no qualms killing them.

What makes Mahito so compelling is the fact that he is a curse born from humanity - our hatred, jelaousy, dishonesty, deceit, is the mother of Mahito which makes him irredeemably evil. Yet that same humanity makes him human as well, making him curious and adaptable, vengeful and fearful.

His powers of Soul Manipulation are as much a power as they are a theme that surrounds him and his oponents - he "kills" his oponents' souls both physically and emotionally. The one person whose soul he cannot physically alter is, ironically, Yuji, who thus becomes a target of Mahito's mental torment killing his mentor and two friends, and crippling another friend, all in front of Yuji.

Pic: Mahito does an unprecedented Jujutsu feat after only seeing it done once, just minutes before.

Skull Kid- Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Skull Kid- Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask

A mischievous but lonely kid distraught by the loss of his friends, Skull Kid often played tricks on the citizens of Termina. He steals the unsettling Majora's Mask from the Happy Mask Salesman, which grants him mysterious and dangerous powers yet corrupts him. Upon meeting Link in the Lost Woods, he takes both the Ocarina of Time and Epona before turning him into a deku scrub, leaving Link to form an unlikely alliance with one of Skull Kid's two fairy companions once she is left behind. When Link emerges into Clock Town, he learns that Skull Kid has used his powers to send the moon crashing into the earth in 3 days time. Scrambling to regain his humanity, take back the ocarina, and stop Skull Kid, Link confronts him at the Clock Tower at the end of the final day, seconds before the moon will crash down on them. Taking the ocarina back, Link plays the Song of Time to reverse time to the start of the 3 days, sending him on a time looping journey to awaken the giants and stop Skull Kid - and the mask - from destroying the world.

Skull Kid is forever a looming threat in Majora's Mask, he can be seen dancing on top of the clock tower at all times, growing more and more uncanny every day. Although Skull Kid is only a product of the corruption of Majora's Mask, he is one of the main factors that contribute to the eerie and daunting ambiance of Termina, always threatened by the approaching unsettling view of the moon above.

THIRD FIGHT

Silco from Arcane

Silco from Arcane

A hero will sacrifice the person they love to save the world, but a villain will sacrifice the world to save the person they love

Silco, Zaun born and raised, together with Vander fought for the freedom of Zaun. Upon Vanders betrayal and attempted murder done on him by Vander, Silco was left visibly scared and traumatized.

He started to plot his revenge and usurpation of Vander as leader of Zaun. Being cunning and ruthless he worked from shadows, building his forces, hiring Singed to create a drug that would enable him to sieze power. Cold and goal oriented, he took his chance against Vander and seized power. He adopted Jinx cause her life reminded him of himself.

Silco continued to expand his criminal empire, working to get Zaun's freedom. With making of Shimmer and exporting it he amassed great wealth and influence. With Jinx on his side Silco was ready to bring the fight for Zaun's independence.

Silco however, would never achieve his dream, starting as someone who never understood why Vander would sacrifice Zaun for lives of few he grew up as someone who was willing to do the same for Jinx... and in the end he did.

All his work, all his plans, all of it meant nothing against the love he had towards his adoptive daughter.

In the end, after Jinx killed him by mistake, Silco didn't hold any hate, he held love towards her, making sure she doesn't feel at fault or broken. He assured her it is okay knowing that his plans rest with Jinx.

Silco as a Vilain is what Vilain should be. Someone who is willing to burn the world just for someone they care about.

He didn't have some big godlike powers, he wasn't some god amongst men, he was simply a man with a vision and idea and willpower to work for it.

VS

Younger Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho
My pick for best villain is younger Toguro from Yu Yu Hakusho. Toguro is an amazing villain because of how Togashi masterfully peels away at the layers or his character. At first Toguro is a standard thug who believes might and power will solve any problem. As his arc progresses, viewers learn that there is more to his character. He is a walking contradiction who is full of self loathing and fear. Toguro witnessed the death of his students to the hands of Kairen. This in turn causes him to go mad with grief. After defeating Kairen in the previous Dark Tournament, Toguro is still full of self-hatred. In turn, Toguro forgoes his humanity and becomes a demon as a way to punish himself for his failures to protect his students.

Furthermore, Toguro has an impact on Yusuke Urameshi. Like Toguro, Yusuke believes that strength and might are everything. Yusuke even admits that he admires Toguro. After all, Toguro is untouchable and everybody fears him. However, it’s Yusuke’s mentor Genkai who explains that Toguro’s actually a coward because he couldn’t cope with the fact of growing old and becoming weak. Remember, Toguro couldn’t protect his students and thus hates himself. Toguro’s self hatred causes him to turn into a demon who wishes to be eradicated by a human. Furthermore, Toguro realizes that Yusuke is the human who has the potential to kill him, however, Toguro needs to unlock that potential through any means necessary. Every interaction between Yusuke and Toguro just builds until their final battle, which is ultimately one of the best fights in all of anime because of how emotionally satisfying it is.

SCENE 2

FOURTH FIGHT

Yami Marik from Yugioh
Yami Marik from Yugioh

Hands down a favorite enemy in the Battle City Tournament story arch of the manga and anime. He was vicious, driven, entitled, yet regal, articulate, and charming when he needed to be: the ultimate manipulator. His backstory tore at the heart strings of fans, revealing the scared, hurt child that Marik really is, and we all flipped when his dark side entered the picture.

He was born to a family of superstitious overly traditional nutcases who kept him and his sister Ishizu locked underground their entire lives. Marik's mother died in childbirth so he never knew her. Meanwhile, his father forcefully carved the Pharaoh's secret onto his back with a flaming knife WHEN HE WAS TEN.

Marik obviously became resentful toward the Pharaoh as a result. Shortly after this ritual, Marik also developed a second personality, Yami Marik, to cope with his pain. Later, I think a year after the ritual, Odion/Rishid, Marik's adopted older brother, helps Marik and Ishizu sneak out to see the outside world. When they get back, they find their father punishing Rishid for their actions, whipping him until he falls unconscious. Seeing this drives Marik over the edge. His more evil personality, Yami Marik, takes over and stabs his father to death with the Millenium Rod (in the dub, he sends him to the Shadow Realm) and threatens to kill Ishizu and Rishid next. However, Rishid wakes up and Marik returns to normal, having been essentially unconscious when his other personality took over. So he has no idea who murdered his father. Despite his father's abuse, Marik is still horrified at his father's death.

After Marik returns to normal, a follower of the Pharaoh appears, warning Marik that he has chosen a dark power. In the sub, he blames this follower for his father's murder and since no one tells him otherwise, Marik vows to get revenge on the Pharaoh, leading to his betrayal and turn to villainy five years later. (The dub cuts the part about him wanting revenge for his fathers murder and doesn't acknowledge it at all.) As a villain, all Marik cares about is getting revenge on the Pharaoh. He wants to gain all three Egyptian God Cards and the Millenium Items in order to gain the Pharaoh's powers. He's desperate to get revenge for all the pain the Pharaoh indirectly put him through. It lines up well with his character. His only personality, Yami Marik, only cares about spreading as much destruction and misery as possible, cackling with glee as he tortures everyone he duels against. That's a lot more simple but Yami Marik only exists as a result of Marik's anger so it kind of makes sense. He's like Hyde and Marik is like Jekyll. It's kind of a cool concept.

Even before his darker side took over, Marik was a really good villain. He used the millennium rod to mind control and kind of terrorize his minions all while hiding in the shadows so when the heroes actually see him, they don't even realize it's him.

However, he didn't just use his mind control powers on his minions. At one point, he also mind-controlled Joey and Tea, forcing Joey and Yugi into a duel in which the loser is dragged into the ocean and drowns. And if Yugi tries to escape mid duel, Tea will be crushed to death. That's pretty messed up.

Then things get worse when his other personality takes over during the Battle City finals. His first duel is against Mai. He made this duel a dark game, or shadow duel, where the rules are more twisted and real pain is brought to the players of the duel. In this duel, Yami Marik makes Mai forget her friends one by one, torturing her psychologically. Then he traps her and nearly murders her with an attack from the Winged Sun Dragon of Ra, only for Yugi to save her by taking the hit. Yami Marik wins the duel then uses his Millennium Rod to knock Mai unconscious and essentially make her die a slow painful death, slowly forgetting everything about herself and her friends until her mind decays completely, leaving her as an empty shell.

In the dub, he sends her to the Shadow Realm... you can see why I keep referring to the original version now I assume. In both versions, the fact that he's psychologically torturing her is obvious but the dub still downplays how messed up it was. It also downplays the intensity of Marik's duel against Joey. In that duel, Joey and Marik feel the pain their monsters are in when they are attacked or destroyed. Joey is about to win this duel but falls to the ground before he can call his final attack, giving Yami Marik the win. Yes, Joey came that close to defeating Yami Marik. But as a result of the duel being a Shadow Game, Joey was nearly killed. Marik essentially killed three people (Mai, Joey, and Bakura) in duels.

Then, in his final duel with Yugi, he put one of Yugi's halves and normal Marik up for sacrifice so depending on who loses, one of them will die. And according to Yami Marik, if that one is Yugi, both Yugis will die.

Yami Marik is an excellent villain and one of the best out there.

Chloe's Culpability - Soloist in a Cage
Chloe's Culpability - Soloist in a Cage

Who's Chloe's Culpability?

To talk about Chloe's Culpability, I need to tell you about Chloe and a little summary of Soloist in Cage. Some aspects of the synopsis that you will read may spoil the manga a lot. So please, read Soloist in a Cage. It only has 20 chapters, you can easily read it in one afternoon.

Summary of Soloist in Cage :

The Prison City, housing over five hundred thousand people, is inescapable. Constantly surveilled by thousands of robot guards, the inhabitants have little chance of jailbreak. Chloe, a seven-year-old girl, has lived in this dreary city her whole life. Abandoned by her parents, she passes her days with her baby brother, Rock. Since the streets are sprawling with dangerous criminals, she has never left the house and finds her purpose in life by taking care of her brother.

One night, after realizing that her neighbors are attempting to escape, Chloe secretly pursues them while carrying Rock. However, when things go south during their escape, she becomes separated from her brother. Faced with harsh reality, she reluctantly escapes without him, holding onto the hope that he will survive until the day she can return. Eleven years later, upon polishing her combat abilities, Chloe returns to the Prison City with fierce determination to search for the brother she promised to protect long ago.

Chloe's Culpability:
What a weird name for villain. But don't misunderstand. Chloe's Culpability is not only an abstract concept, it's also a character, a real person in Soloist in a Cage universe. When you see Chloe's culpability for the first time, he is just the boss a of local gang of Prison City.

Chloe's Culpability first appearance as the Boss :

Later, Chloe enters in contact with a car dealer. He knows something about her lost brother. The only way if he wants to say her any info to find her brother is to kill the whole gang. The car dealer is not saying this seriously. The Boss is the who killed the car dealer's daughter years ago. The car dealer gives a rendez-vous to the gang, so they can finally get the bus the Boss wanted. At first, the car dealer planned to kill them all in crashing the bus in the wall of the prison while pretexting it was just a test to look at the reliability of the vehicle. Chloe stands in the front of the bus before it touches the wall. Chloe wears Sylvia clothes that the car dealer gave to Chloe previously. The bus stops, and the car dealer can't find the will to do what he was planning. He gets out of the bus to talk to Chloe. Chloe's is about to enter the bus. The car dealer thinks she will be killed.

The first encounter between Chloe and the Boss :

After the Boss finally dies, Chloe is asking the car dealer what happened to her brother. She learns that her brother might be with a local theological organization who rules over most of Prison City. She goes in the part of the city where the organization is established because they're known to kidnapp children to eat them. On place, she finds a family. They're working with the organization to create a airship so they can escape Prison City. The Boss is starting to haunt Chloe as her culpability for her murders.

The Boss's first appearance as Chloe's Culpability :

Chloe's Culpability' role in Soloist in a Cage

Why is Chloe seeing the Boss as her own culpability?

You may ask, why of all the people we have seen, why is this guy she just met who becomes the representation of her culpability?

I may have the answer. During the bus scene, Chloe starts her massacre by turning off the light. After this, she kills every gang member in the vehicle, slowly approaching the Boss. When she's in front of the Boss, he begins his monologue with "my eyes finally adapted to the dark", then he understands who is Chloe. The dark represents the space nobody can see Chloe killing the people who distance her from her brother. But the Boss can see, and he can judge her. He's himself a criminal, he knows who's a murderer and who's not. That's why this scene is important. Chloe can't hide she's a murderer indefinitely.

The impact of Chloe's Culpability on her relationship with her brother.

This is a massive spoiler, but it's for me the greatest example of Chloe's Culpability impact on the story.

The theather scene :

This scene is very important. I'll give a bit context but I will try to do not spoil too much. Before this scene, there is an event that concludes Chloe to learn that one of the children of the family is in her reality her brother. Her little brother doesn't who she really is. The event also concludes to her brother calling Chloe "a murderer".

In the theater scene, we can see that Chloe is about to tell her brother that she's in reality his sister, but bang, the Boss appears. Clearly this time, he even has his throat sliced. The Boss tells her that she's a murderer, he also speaks of all the people she killed to find her brother back. At the end of te scene, he says "...now, tell him". He's insinuating that she can't tell her brother who she really is without saying she's a murderer, a dangerous criminal.

The warehouse scene :

I think the scene speaks of itself. Chloe finally accepts her sins, saying she will continue to do her murders if it permits her brother to live. She'll become the hidden devil who kills the people who put a threat on the one she loves. She'll just hide to her brother that she's his sister and a murderer.

The airship scene :

The kids finally escape from Prison City with the airship they made. Chloe is with them. Her dream of living close to her brother out of the prison is finally here... but the Boss is here too. He now is only a skeleton who can't talk. He is pointing with his hand something which is under Chloe. It's the weight of her culpability, the horde of deads she leaves behind her in prison. Her culpability is heavy. TOO MUCH HEAVY. It means Chloe can't live this life she was dreaming of. Chloe, who is held back by her culpability, says her brother that her brother still in the city so she has to find him back. It's only an excuse, her brother is in reality if front of her. She doing it so her brother never knows who she really is. She finally leaves her brother's hand and... goes.

Conclusion

Chloe's culpability is a very good antagonist. He opposes Chloe to her dream of living a good life with her brother. His design is great and has real impact on the story. At start, I wanted to to use White from Tower of God as my choice, but I prefer the Boss's writting.

The manga doesn't end like this, so I really invite you to read it. You can read it for free in english on MangaPlus! https://mangaplus.shueisha.co.jp/titles/100047

@Borasey79 @Warine I can't count your votes unless you vote for all the fights in the poll. You gotta pick one from F1, one from F2, one from F3, and one from F4. You can go to change vote and do that. Otherwise I won't be able to count your votes.
