Blackbeard's Awakening: Black Star
This idea assumes that Blackbeard won't go through the same transformation that Luffy did. Instead, he will gain what will seem to be an underwhelming ability similar to Kidd and Law who really only got 1 extra special, and extra costly, ability that extended from the abilities they had.
In other words, this logic follows previously used rules in awakening that have applied to some Paramecia class users. The Logia class may have an entirely different awakening than either the Paramecia or Zoan classes.
BUT, if, for some reason, the author decided he was just going to give Blackbeard an extra special ability like he did with Kidd and Law then it should be something like this....
Black Star
Primary Effect: Blackbeard releases Darkness into the sky and it forms a ball. The Darkness absorbs most of the light of the sun and stops it from escaping.
Secondary Effect: The entire surrounding environment is covered in darkness, which allows Blackbeard to maximize the length of his "body" because he is a Darkness Man.
This process allows Blackbeard to gain a "plethora" of other abilities because everything covered in darkness becomes part of his body. Additionally, other Devil Fruit users can no longer use their abilities while within range of the Black Star.
This idea is based on the real-world concept that refers to a star built using gravity.
Wiki Entry
A black star is a gravitational object composed of matter. It is a theoretical alternative to the black hole concept from general relativity. The theoretical construct was created through the use of semiclassical gravity theory.
