Yomi yomi no mi base power = allows Brook to revive himself
Yomi yomi no mi awakening = allows Brook to revive others
Obviously there has to be a catch to this power, otherwise it would ruin the story. My guess is the limitation is that the yomi yomi no mi awakening can only be used to summon people that the user personally knew.
Brook being able to summon the ghosts of the Rumbar pirates would be awesome imo. After all Brook went through, I think it would be nice to see that his old crew is still with him and willing to fight by his side.
If Brook’s normal powers enhance his soul and allow him to freeze others with it, I’m guessing any spirit he summons with awakening could have similar freezing powers. They may also be able to possess others.
But yeah Brook should get this power, he is the soul king, and hence should have power over the dead. Imo he could get it against Vasco Shot. But if he’s too weak, another possibility is that he gets it against the admiral candidate VA, vice admiral Chaton. Otherwise he could just get it in his final fight with a holy knight.
