Multiverse General Can Batman Guide a Tortoise Across the US During the Zombie Apocalypse?

#1
It's 5 years into the zombie apocalypse. Resources are scarce, and humans are losing the battle, but there is hope. Bruce Wayne is holed up in LA with a tortoise. In this tortoise's veins flows the key to developing a zombie vaccine. However, the scientists who can develop the vaccine are in New York City, and the reagents needed to create the medicine have a shelf life of 2 more years.

Can the Dark Knight save humanity by guiding this tortoise across the country in 2 years?

The rules:
  • The tortoise is a full-grown and healthy male Galapagos tortoise, weighing 500 pounds. It will need to be fed and taken care of like any other tortoise. Batman also needs to feed himself, find water, etc.
  • The zombies act like most movie zombies, but they want to bite the tortoise as well. They can be knocked out temporarily or killed by destroying the head/decapitating.
  • Gas-based vehicles (cars, planes, motorbikes, ships) are out of fuel and can't be used.
  • If the tortoise gets bitten by a zombie, game over.
  • If Batman gets bitten, he becomes a zombie within 48 hours.
  • The tortoise understands the situation, wants to get to NYC, and will mostly obey Bruce Wayne's commands, but is otherwise limited to tortoise-like skills.
  • Bruce Wayne starts with a fully equipped batsuit, but with no refills to weapons.
  • The tortoise cannot be fitted with armor or protective gear of any kind.
Round 1: Normal, slow zombies. Easy to incapacitate.

Round 2: 28 Days Later zombies. Fast, harder to incapacitate.

Round 3: All the zombies have been replaced with bloodlusted 5-year-olds who understand that they have to stop a tortoise from getting to the other coast. Also, the tortoise can only move by walking or by being carried on Batman's back.

Round 4: Same as Round 1, but replace the tortoise with 2 perpetually blackout drunk Kramers, and replace Batman with Napoleon.

The distance from Los Angeles to New York is around 4489km? It's going to be a completely miserable experience for anybody driving that distance, much less trying to walk it by foot while being chased by zombies.

Batman definitely won't be surviving Rounds 3 and 4 here. Can he even run at all with 500lbs on his back, much less travel 2780 miles?

The first 2 round are doable.
Batman is super smart and can create weapons, find shelters, set traps etc..
He could even get a millitary truck and upgrade it with better weapons and make it faster but walking or carrying a tortoise is out of question.
he'll basically have to take on every single Zombie that exists on the road.

It's a gas powered vehicle so it can't be used in this scenario.

But I don't see why the leftover gas in the gas stations can't be used to fuel vehicles when they would be relatively untouched by zombies?

Batman could make them run on anything
He could probably figure out to use wind, electricity etc.. in a couple hours.
Electricity would be the go-to source of fuel most vehicles that exist. Now about that charging issue where it takes what, close to an hour to charge up an electric car, much less a truck 🤔

As much as I laugh at Prep time Batman, Round 1 and 2 are definitely doable with enough prep time. Making strategies, plans, thinking about the proper path to take...etc

Round 3 would be far, far harder. He kinda needs tech here.

Round 4 is impossible

What if he uses a jetpack?,

What if he uses a jetpack?,
The problem is the jetpack running out of fuel (something that, as stated by the OP, is unavailable in the current situation). Plus I doubt the jetpack would be strong enough to carry over 300kgs that easily

Although, if it's 5 years after the apocalypse started it's fair to assume that Bruce has already developed some stuff that's actually usable in his conditions

What about if he makes a small tower that can fit on top of a car and he carries it that way?,

Actually gas fuels vehicles can not be used

Told ya lol. Although solar powered vehicles might still be a thing...
What if he makes a car like box out of wood on wheels that he can move by using his feet to walk and drag it and he hides himself and the tortoise in the box?,

That may be easier to do than carry 300kg right on your back,
