Let's see:
1) Garp's fame is mainly due to Roger, sure he might've done great things unrelated to Roger but his alias "the Hero of the Marine" and his fame as the Marine who once chased the Pirate King are due to Roger.
2) Roger made Garp raise his son for him - we all know how it end for Garp (heartbreak)
3) Roger's apprentice made Garp's grandson to become fixed on being a pirate.
4) After years of Garp chasing Roger the man decide to turn himself when he already was at death door anyway, only to start the Great Age of Piracy undoing all Garp's efforts.

Garp might've outlived Roger but we all know he got completely owned by the man.

If you take it that way then yes, he got owned by Roger. But if we look from another perspective, this actually make Garp as an innocent, caring person with a golden heart. Especially the fact that he risk his career maybe even his life to protect Roger's Son. Even he wanted to kill Sakazuki when the latter killed Ace, and let Luffy pass trough him while the whole Marine was watching.

Pretty sure that Garp's alias "Marine Hero" come from defeating Xebec. Not Roger.:seriously:

Lol. His parenting style surely makes him seem like a very good guy with very good intentions who means no harm.

DDM has said it better than I ever could…while I think Garp’s love for his family is genuine, the way he goes about showing it is manipulative and conditional, neither of which are words you wanna be called when it comes to your parenting style :usoprice:

I have to admit that what Garp accomplished was more than impressive, but legendary anyway.

Roger himself admitted Garp made him risk his life several times so strenght wise the two were probably not that fat apart, plus Garp was presumably disadvantaged due being a brawler.

No dude. Garp title is about Xebec. He and Roger helped each other, also the betrayal plot and many CoC in a crew.

Garp was a kind man that understood that a son has nothing to do with father's life and crimes.
Shanks "feat" on Luffy has nothing to do Roger. Luffy would be a pirate anyway.
Roger didn't undone any of Garps efforts since Xebec remains defeated.
