I know many people don't believe in hidden messages in Color Spreads or Cover Requests from Oda, but it seems like he sometimes draws stuff on purpose to make people think about it.
Now this can still mean something entirely different 'if' it means anything at all.
The current color Spread of Chapter 1156 shows us Luffy, who is wearing something around his right arm.
When you zoom further in, there is a word written on it that can be read as Nereid. My first thought was just a random word with probably no meaning. But, Doctor Google came to the rescue after looking this specific word up, there were some interesting results.
Apparently, the Nereids are nymphs from Greek mythology, who are friendly to sailors and sea-wrecked people (my first thought immediately went to the Klabautermann lore). But also interesting that they often accompany Poseidon, the god of the sea. Could this be the connection to why Imu wants Shirahoshi gone? Maybe she can control these spirits *Klabautermann. Of course, Oda won't just one-to-one copy-paste from mythology, but always add his own flavor to the story.
Also, since the discussion about Luffy's mother came up again in this chapter, maybe she was a Nymph herself. There is like a big list of nymph names, all female. But I haven't looked all their names up, yet. There are almost 100 different names. Maybe Oda wants us to find something there. I don't know.
The second interesting Google result was that Nereid is the third-largest moon of the planet Neptune, which was also named after the sea-nymphs from Greek mythology. I personally don't know what to do with this information. Obviously, moons play an important part in One Piece, but we need more information. Maybe something to do with the Mural, 3 different Worlds, 3 Moons of Neptune? I have no clue.
Like I said, this could all be a nothing burger, but it's still odd that Oda wrote such a 'random' word on Luffy's arm, which turns out to have ties to important things in the story: moons and Poseidon, etc.

Any thoughts or different ideas are welcome, you can even say it's all garbage, no offense taken here.
