So after 2nd season of JJK was over I rushed to the manga because I already received SPOILERS that Gojo has died to Sukuna but the fight seemed incredible to me. I saw memes of Gojo dominating the fight. And suddenly he died. I saw people talking about their domain expansion clashes. I wanted to rush to that part.

While doing it I notice how boring and complicated some particular elements were at manga. It is with pretty much all shonens. We are here because of action, fights and stuff. Specially hand to hand or sword fights but in some cases magic fights too. And it is very disappointing when you have to go back and reread some ability explanation 10 over and still not understand it fully while knowing that none of that matters since the author at the end will come up with another bullshit you didn't knew initially to have a different outcome.

For example, Hakari gamble ability. Wtf is that? Green, yellow, red, stage... Too much information. And guess what? If you skip all that it makes no difference. You don't have to understand it at all for the plot. All you need to know (what Gege is focusing right now) is that he gets "immortal" for a bit over 4 min while the song is playing and then he has to use his domain again and he will be "immortal" again. "Oh but he can use his domain and not be immortal because he is gambling" it doesn't matter! Author will tell if he became immortal or not.

Another example are Gojo's abilities... How boring. All I know is that Gojo goes BOOM! That's why Sukuna is better. He just slice whatever is in front of him. Simple and effective. Really what is the difference between Blue, Red and Purple? They are all painted spheres that hits you and hurts you. Six Eyes? Until now I don't know what that shit means. I only saw 2! Unlimited? He saw pretty limited in his fight with Sukuna. Now he is unlimitely DEAD!

Meanwhile the protagonist Yuji... From chapter 1 until now he is only doing punches! He doesn't have nothing to the point he is USELESS! Sukuna is more interesting in a fucking lawyer than the fucking protagonist that allowed him to be what he is now.

Heck side Characters like toji and nanami seem more interesting than the MC
This is one thing I like on JJK. Gege doesn't try to make everyone sucks Yuji balls. He gives him the protagonism but everyone has plenty of screen to be liked. Even the boring ones like the comedian guy.

Which makes sense.. He's just a young guy caught in crazy and unusual events

Gege took Nen and made it more convoluted for the purposes of his story.

He's great at coming up with concepts, he's not the best at staying consistent with them. Too many feel ad-hoc or like throwaways solutions he's written himself into a corner to need.

The frequent use of textbook explanations of what's happening is not a good thing to me. It's a crutch.

Exactly. He could have Hakari ability way more simple while maintaining his essence of gambling and focus on real plot and fight instead of boring the reader with tons of explanation that will lost sense eventually.

Same shit about the comedian guy. I skipped his show and that doesn't make any difference (it was really boring).
