As we can see, Kuma's bear ears are part of his body. Every single pacifista has them. However, Kuma didn't always have the ears.
As we see, they only developed later in life. My guess is that the bear ears are tied to Kuma's race and that they must be awoken, similar to a 3 eyed tribe's third eye or a mink's su long.
As daughter of Kuma, I believe Bonney will awaken her bear genes sometime this arc. This will give her bear ears as well as immense physical strength and durability, as Kuma had.
Due to the fact they are both female pirates, who love food, and have a similar appearance, many people have noticed that Bonney seems to parallel Big Mom. Given how Big Mom is known for her immense physical strength and durability, I feel like it would make a lot of sense if Bonney also gained such powers. Albeit obviously not to Big Mom's extent.
My theory is that the bear genes are activated by physical pain and trauma, which Kuma no doubt endured heavy amounts throughout his life. By undertaking similar pain, Bonney will awaken her bear genes and become one of the strongest female pirates in One Piece.
