This is a very quick Theory, i don't fully believe in it, but it's a Possibility i wanted to share:
Shanks was found in God's Valley by Roger Pirates, He spent his Childhood with them
So logically "Shanks" is the Name given to him by Roger Pirates, it's not the Name his Mother or Father chose for him
Why is this Important?
Well, if you recall, when Shanks met WB at End of Water 7 Saga, he brought Sake & said that it's from his Home Island in West Blue
But didn't he grow up on Oro Jackson? Wasn't he found in God's Valley? Meaning that Shanks wasn't referring to his Childhood Island, he was referring to his Origin. Meaning Shanks eventually discovered that his Parents came from West Blue (This means that somehow, either He or his Parent(s) were taken to God's Valley from that Island)
If Shanks was able to discover his Origin, then He obviously discovered his Real Name, not just Family Name but the Name given to him by his Parents too. Why am i making such assumption? Cuz in Recent Chapter, Shanks said that Dorry/Brogy thought He was Dead, which might imply few things!
Dorry/Brogy were fighting on Little Garden for around 100 Years, that means they didn't meet Shanks anywhere else, they definitely met on Little Garden. Shanks is a Very Strong Pirate & even if they met him during his Rookie Days, He definitely looked Promising & they thought He is gonna be a Great Pirate, just like Luffy. So there is no reason for them to assume Shanks is Dead just cuz Couple Decades passed since they last met, it's like saying they also assume Luffy would Die in 10 Years
This clearly indicates that the Reason they thought he was Dead was cuz they stopped hearing News about him
And it should be Noted that they clearly don't read Newspapers, otherwise they would have confirmed he was Alive & well when they see his Pictures. So most probably, Dorry/Brogy were asking Visitors of Little Garden about Shanks, but no one heard about him!
Sounds strange, right? But there is actually a Possible Explanation found in Little Garden Arc. Dorry/Brogy said that almost every single Visitor of Little Garden ends up Dead cuz the Log Pose takes One Year to Lock into Next Island & none of them is able to survive that long with Dinosaurs & other Dangers. However! Oda for some reason, confirmed a Single Man who visited Little Garden & survived
Nami read in a Book that a Man who goes by The Name of Louis Arnote did visit Little Garden & lived to tell the Tale, He even mentioned that Two Gants were fighting on it, meaning this Explorer isn't someone from Ancient Times who is most probably Dead now, He is someone who could have visited the Island couple Decades ago & still Alive. Which is very convenient, cuz it might explain why Dorry/Brogy failed to hear any news about Shanks, simply cuz that's not the Name they knew him with
There are even more Minor Hints that are really convenient! The Book that contained some of Louis Arnote's Adventures was called Brag Men & it's considered a "Romance Fiction" which is similar to Chapter 1's Title "Romance Dawn". This Book was seen in Ohara among the ones they saved & it's important to note that Ohara is from West Blue (Same as Origin of Shanks). And also Roger was Executed 24 Years Ago & that's when Shanks started his Solo Journey & we then saw him recruit Yasopp 22 Years Ago which is same Year Ohara Incident happened.
So Shanks was "Alone" for 2 Years between Roger's Execution & Ohara's Incident where he could have used that time to find his Home Island in West Blue & He most probably didn't have a Bounty at the time (Shanks didn't have a Flag in Chapter 0), so Shanks could have journeyed as an Explorer for 2 Years using the Name Louis Arnote & that's when he visited Little Garden. (This could Hint that Shanks hides his Real Identity even from his Crew, after all he did end up taken from West Blue to God's Valley & he was also seen talking with Gorosei alone, so it's possible that even his Crew don't know his Full Story & He wants to keep it a Secret)
