I find it odd how there are two very important sets of brothers in this arc: Shanks and Shamrock, and Hajrudin and Loki.
I wonder if these two are supposed to parallel each other.
Shanks, like Hajrudin, was something of an outcast in his society. While Hajrudin was a bastard, Shanks was raised by pirates.
Meanwhile their brothers, Loki and Shamrock, got to live in the palace/MJ like royalty.
Shamrock and Loki are both DF users, while Shanks and Hajrudin aren’t.
Lastly, Hajrudin and Shanks are both noble, whereas Shamrock and Loki are both evil*.
* on the last part, whereas Loki was portrayed as evil in his past, it’s possible Oda is setting up a redemption for him. With Luffy saving him and the revelation that he might be innocent of killing Harald or at least the story is more complicated than we know.
Ultimately I can see Oda using Shamrock as a foil to Loki. Shamrock is what would happen to Loki if Loki refuses to change and grow as a person.
