I used to think the Ring Eyes is an ability that's above ACoC but I had a second thought about it after looking back at Hakuba in Dressrosa which I believe is a hint of what the Ring Eyes is. The fact that they put emphasis on them when they appear in every scene with the zoom effect shows the significance of it like Naruto Shippuden.
I think it's an ancient demon entity that possessed Imu, Mihawk, Zunesha, Cavendish and Big Mom. They're shown to be ferocious and have lightning speed.
The difference between them is Imu and Mihawk managed to take full control over them through either a sacrifice or training like how Naruto and Killer B went through to control their Jinchuriki and use them to their advantage so this puts them in the highest pecking order in OP verse. Also, it explains why those two are still enigmas because the entity probably played a major role 800+ years ago.
Big Mom have the same split personality as Cavendish and the Ring Eyes appears when she goes on a carnage that no one could stop her.
Her speed is really slept on due to her meme reputation and low fight IQ but she's lightning fast, highly agile and was able to catch Marco and grabbed him when none of the admirals could except Garb. She was also able to outpace the Vinsmokes known for their speed and blitz through Luffy/Kidd/Killer before they could react.
Unlike Cavendish, she is not known for her intelligence and her rise was all due to Streusen taking advantage of her so that's probably why she still doesn't know about her split personality yet.
This panel shows that Zoro most likely saw Mihawk's real face when he was at Muggy Island but he has full control of it so that's why Zoro made it out alive. This is also the man who shrugs off to Shanks speed and future sight.
Zunesha was probably a giant Elephant at one point until a demon entity took possession of him 800+ years ago but Joyboy helped him control it using the Voice of All Things ability. His cardio and strength feat should up there and is probably rapid for his size.
At last, Imu is the one possessed by the strongest entity who took in a form of a Satan. Combined with his DF and all form of advanced Haki that puts him in the highest pecking order.
