This is a sincere post that I'm sure will not be given much thought and will be removed shortly because it challenges our perception about our thinking.
I am promoting that Worstgen members should take on a new culture to adopt. That is, a more social attitude toward others. Instead of antisocial attitudes. Unhealthy attitudes contribute to an unhealthy climate here. That is, don't bully people because you think that's how men show dominance or something. That's weird. I think it's better/manlier to show conflict resolution and crisis management skills than it is to just try to win an argument. Usually, it's people who lack those skills that end up in arguments! It is also possible that people show sociopathic behavior here. For example, being "witty" or "clever" is considered to be a trait of sociopaths.
Why would someone be a sociopath here?
1. ADHD = high energy and mood swings
2. ODD = doesn't obey rules
3. ASPD = doesn't obey rules of society
People who have high energy and mood swings, don't obey rules, and especially rules of society will end up having sociopathic behavior because they don't care if things they do impact the lives of others in society. Thinking you are "witty" is considered a textbook trait of sociopaths because instead of being social and accepting other people's beliefs or values, the sociopathic person tries to prey on someone sharing a belief or value instead to achieve a short term self esteem boost. Normal people don't do that because they don't need that temporary self esteem boost from knocking other people down. It really only makes sense to people experiencing sociopathy.
Finally, a major problem of the internet is that people on it are often experiencing what I call a Doom Spiral. A doom spiral is similar to the following:
If you are like most people with ADHD or other forms of neurodivergence, you have probably experienced shame spiraling at some point. Shame spiraling is a downward spiral of negative self-talk that can be incredibly destructive.
I believe that people online are often experiencing these doom spirals- downward spirals of negative self-talk. It has something to do with the average person online lacking self esteem. All these people doom/shame spiraling created a giant doom/shame spiral that they all get sucked into. I call this Doom Spiral Culture.
People who like anime/manga are particularly prone to Doom Spirals, so it's not uncommon here.
Lastly, there has been an increasing amount of illiterate people on the internet because there have been actual movements to get illiterate people to come online and LEARN. However, they were extremely misbehaved and most often just ended up spreading ignorance and hate.
This is why we must change our perception and maintain a happier and more optimistic attitude- there are tons of people who don't know how to be happy or nice to each other online, and there are tons of people who already contribute to a giant Doom Spiral that affects us all.
Another subject, it's well known that it's people in poverty and who are poorly educated that spend the most time on the internet. It is these individuals who flood the internet with their opinions and that's why so much misinformation and propoganda exists on it.
This is not a political post- it's simply about a movement toward better internet cultures that do not share the same beliefs that other communities do- which are most often Doom Spiral Cultures.
