Attack on Titan was a mess towards the end, same with the protagonists, but I still liked both more.

While not quite as much of a drop in quality as AoT, Death Note wasn’t quite as good for its second half after L died

I have a controversial take, I think Death Note is one of the more overrated animes. By overrated, I don't mean it is bad, it is still enjoyable I give it like a 7/10. But for a story that preaches intelligence, the characters surely weren't acting intelligent. Light gave away he was Killa in the very beginning of the series, where he killed that FBI agent who was tailing him. There was no reason to kill him.

In terms of story quality AOT wins easily wins for me. For example, in DN, after L died, they just created a duplicate character in Near lol which shows that the story was heavily dependent through the characters instead of having a balance between character and plot. AOT is one of the most well balanced stories in terms of balancing between characters and plot.

In terms of characters between Light, L, Eren they were great for me. I enjoyed them all but I will give Light the advantage.

Do we factor the abomination that was the Rumbling and what Isayama did to his manga or only the rest?

Cause in that case opinions may vary.

Fuck bro.

Death Note stomps.

If it's all in. Death Note stomps. I usually don't rate something based on one decision in the manga by the end/midway thru.

But fuck me, I think we both agree that Isayama just decided to off his fucking manga with what he did to Eren and the Rumbling.:shame:
I still like AoT and Eren quite a lot, but both took a hit with that final stretch.

R1:Which one is better? --They are both great and based. Death note has better re-watch entertainment so it edges for me but you can argue AOT minus ending is better

R2:Which one do you enjoy more? -- Death note a bit more

R3:Which MC is better? -- Light no doubt

R4: Which mc u like? -- Light

Isayama was on his way to writing one of the craziest and best by that mangas and turned it into fucking shonen friendship bullshit.

Can't forgive him.
Shounen nakamas don't betray each other tho. You will never see Zoro betraying Luffy for another side character nor Chad betraying Ichigo in similar ways.
Meanwhile not only Armin but Mikasa betrayed Eren. It didn't make it better how Eren cried like a bitch about Mikasa at the end. :suresure:
