Given Theres no sign of Denjiro in the current timeline, I'm gonna assume Denjiro is dead because theres very little reason he would be alive and in Wano yet no one has seen him and he himself hasnt appeared.
I think Izo being included in this flashback is Oda getting ready to reintroduce him in he current timeline and into see for him to be relevant, he will be among the scabbards replacing their fallen comrade Denjiro.
